Guys,
I am on the look out for a good air pistol which is not a break barrel.
After searching and going through various posts found that the Blanca is not worth going for. Now is there any other air pistol having the looks of a Blanca and in the same price range?

Buy the blanca.
Strip it and replace the parts with better quality ones.
Buff and polish all the rough surfaces.
Repaint.
I guess that should help -

By chance if blanca falls form hand (3 ft aprox), the outer body cracks immediately.

Don't bother, its pain all the way and no gain..

ok guys i guess there is no alternative for the blanca and the blanca isn't worth buying.

Guess i will have to wait until a alternative arrives or as sniper suggested buy and rebuild it.

Is Blanca not a copy of Marksman 1010 ?

Wonder if anyone has gone ahead and rebuilt the Blanca ? If so, please guide - I would not mind experimenting on Marksman1010 that I have - just don't know how to proceed. The only time I 'opened' it; could not put it back together - had to shell out INR 150 to the gunsmith simply to put it together and got the trigger and muzzle load port a bit messed up in the bargain. :(

after getting frust from break barreal my search ended with blanca

it looked ok compared to other useless air pistols we hav in india and u can put multiple pellets at one time but need to load for each shot
anyways so I have used blanca for quiet sometime,it shoots ok ( andhon mein kaana raja) but the problem is it was hard to cock in begining so I used sunflower oil ( I know a dumb thing to do but that time I had only one oil and i put it in blanca.

Now sometimes it gets stuck while cocking and doesnt come back to full extent looks like some spring is stuck or something, but if i keep it for sometime 1-2 days unused it starts working again .
Has any1 faced any such problem before?

and the most fav asked question here I will repeat it again

do we hav any better option for air pistols which are manufactured in india coz getting one from US is a big pain .

thanks
Navneet

Though IHP pistols have their own quality/ efficiency problem, they at least shoot holes in paper target at 33' i.e. 10m. I use IHP .22 Olympus AP (simply because I have it) at home - though it lacks the power to flatten out the pellet nicely upon impact inside the pellet trap, it fairly accurate from plinking perspective. Tried hard to get the IHP .177 AP last year but could not. Though my Marksman 1010 is BB capable I never used BBs due to safety concern. So am quite unable to relate to some of the 'better' American feedback about it.

Navneet, your gun could have sear/ trigger mechanism locking against the spring problem due to some wear/tear. When you don't use it, the Sunflower oil could be gelling and thus helping in getting locked for a while. Or, the main spring could be bent inside; hence 'kabhie haan kabhie naa' behavior.

If you are OK with experimentation, why not open it and take a look, else take it to a good gunsmith and have it looked at if you feel it's worth the price and the effort. Good Luck.

@ ramtiger

I will upload the pics of my blanca when it starts working again which I hope will be today as it's lying from 2 days :(

or u can have a look at it here how it looks:
http://www.aimco.co.in/products/110-air ... rgets.aspx
I got it from bangalore for 3300 with target which is really good but I guess one can get it cheaper as the site price itself is 3350 with target
also there is company in kerala which has some new kind of air pistols but no idea of their products quality n performence

@novice

thanks for the advice. I thought of opening it but dint do it

do u know any oil for these kind of devices to help them fucntion smooth.

I saw Marksman 1010 it looks like blanca and I guess its also single shot?

From where did u get it I am desperately dying to have a good reliable CO2 pellet or at least CO2 BB gun for plinking.

If the spring and internals need to be cleaned then I suppose acetone ought to work fine, Dry it out though. Then paste it with Molybdenum grease (I used Lithium based which we get at any scooter spares shop). Regularly, oil the metal parts by a drop or two of gun oil, "singer m/c" oil or 2T scooter oil on 'chindhi'. I personally use a concoction of 2 parts til oil, 2 parts front fork/ 2T oil and one part of silicone oil. But then the pre-condition is that you have to open it. :-)
