Indians For Guns

Hi Experts,
I am going to get an under lever air rifle this weekend however getting confused between M300 (aimco) and New light art work (jodhpur). Have gone through numerous posts however was unclear abt the same. Please let me know which one is the best between these 2 (No other choices please..only these 2)..
Also, my doubt is that if I buy an aimco (IF) than it would be sent thru courier...Will it be OK for an air rifle to be shipped (handling wise..as it would be the most dearest to me)...Not sure how will it be packed/handled...Or is there any shop in Delhi supplying M300...New light art works (jodhpur) is availble in delhi...

Enough catalogued cases of Aimco here inlcuding mine. Brilliant packing - wooden crate- doesn't get any better or safer than that. It gets sent via GATI - you can track it all the way home. Pls note that the M300 is available only in .22.

No idea about the other gun.

Hi Guddu,

Go for much tested and tried AIMCO M300.I got mine and it is amazing weapon..heavy,smooth finish and gives you a complete gun feeling.It is nice to see and good to hold and the delivery was smooth and gives you confident.
I am not explaining technical aspects as I am not so much into it but as per a lame person like me it is a wonderful weapon...just go for it.

By the way want to ask one query regarding M300 >>> Does the under lever has proper lock mechanism (click lock mechanism of the under lever to the main barrel downwards) to hold the lever properly. Reason why I am asking this is because my friends under lever locking mechanism used to get some or the other problem every now and then...and we used to visit a local fabricator shop to get it wield and then smoothen it again for the under lever lock mechanism to work....

Hi Team,
Today I got the chance to try the New Light Art Work air rifle...First of all power is amazing...I think better than ihp and my thought is better than M300 tooo, however some minor finishings were not done neat and clean...Like the latching of the under lever to the barrel was not as expected..was more trouble some...even it demanded some oiling...And gun is not rifled...rear sight caused a bit of pain and I think one can go without that...but if it comes to power...ihp, m300 (maybe) can't match to it...It had an amazing thrust...it is available only in .22...if you have a mechanical apti, go for it...because these are small small things which one can manage...

Yesterday I bought a New Light under lever and tried it out. As guddu rightly said, the power is amazing. I fired on a plywood board(cheaper one) from approx 30 feet, and got 5 out of 10 master shot pointed heads embedded into it. Tried with Gsmith pointed head, and it dug half way through the board!

Yet to have my hands on a M300.

And I bought it for 8K from Tamilnadu Armoury, Chennai and later learned from the Forum, that its much cheaper!! That is another story!

You tried New light work air rifle on a plywood board, you didnt describe the width of that.
I have M300 and IHP too. At the time when i bought M300, I asked Mr. joy Biswas wt to buy M300 or IHP. He suggested me to go for IHP, no one suggest other brands but he is such a great chap. Still I finally made my plan to buy M300 bcoz IHP i could get from Delhi also and I bought it. Dont know about New light but I tried M300 on half inch best quality plywood board and the power was amazing all the pellets (master shot) embedded into it. Now comes to IHP (.177), you wont believe the power, pellets(high Impact) were gone through the same ply "Aar Paar" and stroked my wall hard.

I remember speaking to Mr. Joy (long time back) and he suggested to go for an IHP however I bought an M300...But reason of this was not power...I remember Joy telling that both have the same power (19/20 here and there...) but M300 is a heavy rifle because it has an under lever mechanism...Break barrel is easy to handle and any one can repair that...but honestly I was more inclined to under lever...anyways just want to ask few things about New Light

Even the dealer was not sure if this is rifled or a smooth bore. I believe it is a smooth bore owing to its accuracy and its just my guess.
I am satisfied with the finishing of Butt, and I liked the metal looks behind it. I'd seen only plastics/polymers before. Forestock area was sleek, ergonomical and cool. Felt a very tiny heaviness on the butt end, since i had to adjust for the pull, however it could be due to my previous holding habits.

Likes:
power, weight (just enough weight to be sturdy) and looks.
I Liked the tap loading too.
The under lever is giving me some stretching, and my upper thighs are getting sore, as i place the butt there, for cocking the under lever!

Dislikes:
The under lever does not get straight back to the latch after cocking. I'll have to press a little sideways to get it to the latch.
rear sight is a little shaky. Looking to do something for that.
accuracy: according to me, sporadically in-accurate, not allowing to adjust and settle. (May be due to some dieselling, will have to reserve this comment for next week end.
And, of-course the price i paid for it!!!

Sorry, I'm confused, what do you mean by thrust? And how did you compare the force generated? Thanks
