Daily Shooting Log

Post by gverma » Sun Aug 15, 2010 10:44 pm

Hi
I try to go to the range every day and shoot .177 cal air guns. Very reputed shooters suggested that I should maintain a log book of my daily activities ao that I do to improve my shooting. The log book should contain such as exercises or Yoga which are performed out of range or things like holding or actual target shooting done in the range.

I was also suggested that keeping all shooting targets is not possible and a maintainable thing to do.

Now I have a very bad handwriting (may be years of working on a computer). Hence based on feedback from the very reputed people, looking at some German shooting log books, which are not available in India and are in German and other stuff, I have created and am using this attached shooting log book.

I hope it will be helpful to other users. In case you have more suggestions to improve the same please do let me know.

What I did was simple, took a print of the log book and photocopied the last page back to back for around a year and got it binded - In a Book binding manner.

I had to send it as a pdf because the word doc was > 9 MB. In case you would like to have a word doc, pelase do email me and I will send it ASAP

Thanks
Regards
Gaurav

Thanks a lot for putting in time for this Gverma. I had recently seen this at the renge and wanted to know where to get one.

A pity this effort goes unappreciated so I thank you.

Hi
Please find version 2 of the log book.
The improvements are as follow. Earlier the only thing I was recording was group shots on the target images.
I have added a grid to capture scores in case you are not doing group but a practice match.

Hope it helps.

Thanks

Gaurav

Just chanced upon this logbook. Shall go about putting it to use. In fact after going through a "shooting tips" thread I had come upon a "tip" on using a log book - but didn't know how to go about or for what it is to be used. Thank you very much gverma for your time and initiative.

Please find the version 3 of this log book.
The changes are
1. Two targets have been put for striker shots
2. 6 targets are put in for recording the shots (10 per target)
3. A score sheet has been put in to record the shooting scores, this is in line with IISF guidelines although i have put in details to recored striker shots.
4. A set of 6 graphs have been put to check performance

Please download the file from

http://rapidshare.com/files/438387657/D ... ng_Log.pdf

The file has grown too large for the size limit on this site.
Let me know if you face any issues.

Hope this helps.
Thanks

Gaurav
