Advice For Buying Air Rifle: Aimco or Cannon?

Hi guys! My plans to import a Sig Sauer through some existing IFG member came to a dashing end(sob!). Guess, I have to do it myself.
So, now I have decided to buy an Indian make air RIFLE. I have narrowed down my search to 2 choices. They are:
1. Aimco Model 95
2. Cannon Model 65
While the Aimco model 95 costs Rs.1800, can anyone please tell me the price of the Cannon 65?
Also, can either of the above two guns be fitted with a scope/scope rail?
Also, is there any other air rifle that can be fitted with a scope/scope rail and comes within Rs.1500 ?
And last of all, I would aslo request you people here to tell me which is the better of the 2 guns: Aimco 95 or Cannon 65?
Regards,
007

Hi gunner007,
I am bit surprise at your choice of taking cannon/ aimco m95 after you have dropped going for imported ones. That too settling down with less preferred air rifles. There is IHP/National air rifles which are most sought after Indian made air rifles. I don't think aimco m95 is going to satisfy you. It is also not sure that Aimco is still selling this models, as Aimco website now is showing only two models i.e M200 and M300 in their product gallery now. You can have direct correspondence with Aimco. Joy (the owner) is very helpful, prompt and friendly. Plse visit >
www.aimco.co.in<. Aimco also supplies IHP air rifles, I would suggest go for IHP ones, u will not regret. Keep visiting IFG forum to know about availibilityy of scope for Indian made air rifle.

I would throw in my hat with the IHP. I don't have any experience with the aimco so can't critique it.

Hello gunner007,
You stay in Kolkata right? Why not visit the dealers and have a look at the guns yourself, You will also get a more accurate idea of the prices.

Gunner007,
Think about the IHP. It's a good air rifle. Why not try out all three and then make your choice?

Gunner,
Cannon 65 (break barrel) is a good gun and costs Rs.2,500/-
Aimco M300 (under lever) is equally good and costs Rs.4,300/-
The above two models are better than IHP. All other Aimco models are underpowered and outdated to M300
For the budget you have quoted (Rs.1,500) you might get only the stock. Need to pay for the gun seperately
All indian makes can be fitted with a scope by installing a scope rail which you have to do it. Seller will not do.
Now the choice is yours

Hi Dam,
1. Please don't make multiple posts on the same subject. You have already asked this question here
http://indiansforguns.com/viewtopic.php ... 00#p113201
2. DO NOT use all CAPS on any forum. Its considered downright impolite - equal to shouting.
3. Do not write in a DOTTY fashion " ...... "
Lastly this "WHICH AIRGUN" is a topic that has been covered extensively. Please make the time and take the effort of reading through all the threads in this section - you will then get a fair idea of what you want/can get for a given budget. Please come back with any specific queries that you may have.

Gunrunner007,
Bottom line is, these are perhaps the two best break barrel guns you have in the country.
Most comments about both guns are made from guesses or conclutions after reading various topics. The gentle giant (PKJ), Lucky Luke and I have actually compared the rifles directly. Both are in the same league. In fact I hit bulls eye with open sight at PKJ’s place while sighting the gun with the second pellet ay about 10 mts. It all depends on the shooter. Though I am more inclined towards the Canon (it definitely is more masculine) I have to respect the IHP also. It simply is also a very good Indigenously made rifle.
Please check the below topic to see PKJ’s expert opinion.

You are going to get more confused the more you read.
So i suggest you flip a coin and choose.
