Can Anyone Help Me Importing My First Airgun?

Guys! I have a small favour to ask from you. I hope you won't find my request unethical or outrageous. Well, the thing is that I want to buy an air pistol from Pyramyd Air. However, as I am not a member of NRAI, I guess, I will not be able to import the gun. So, I humbly request my friends here who live in Kolkata: Can anyone please import the gun for me from Pyramyd Air? I am willing to pay the entire cost of the gun including the shipping and delivery charges beforehand. Can anyone please import the gun for me? I would be really really grateful if anyone can help me in this matter. I can even provide you with my email id and mobile number if the need arises. I will pay you the entire amount beforehand and then you can place the order for my choice of gun which can be imported safely without any hasssles. I can also assure those who might be interested to help me that my sole purpose of buying this gun is for target practice.
Even though my location status in IFG says that I live in Kolkata, actually I live in Haldia(which is a 3hr drive from Kolkata). So, if anyone is interested to help me, please let me know. I'll come to Kolkata and pay you the entire money in person so that you won't have any troubles whatsoever. I really want to buy this gun and I will be really grateful if anyone is willing to help me.
I hope I have not caused any sort of inconvenience by making this request. I hope someone helps me and I will be really grateful to him all my life.

Why don't you join a club in Kolkata? You dont have to be a member of NRAI specifically! As far as my knowledge goes there are more than 1 clubs in Kolkata. Let me know if you need pointers to the names etc of the clubs.

2)North Calcutta Rifle Club. Telephone 033-25565968. 64b, Khudiram Bose Sarani, Kolkata - 700037. It is very near to Belgachia Metro Station.
3)South Kolkata Rifle Shooting Club, it is Near Police Training School Opposite of (Calcutta Race Course), They use Police Training School range and this range is open for Club Members only on Sunday.
4)Tollygunge Rifle Club,Tollygunge Kolkata
5)Serampore Rifle Club,
36/A, Kanai Lal Goswami Sarani,
PS - Serampore,
District - Hooghly.

Hi guys! Listen, I don't want to upset anyone here but what I want here is a reply from someone who is willing to import the airgun for me. I can't join a club right now as this is not possible at the moment. So, please post a reply here only if you are willing to help me and if you can help me. Please do not post replies here telling me the names of the different clubs I can join. Joining clubs is not my querry and neither am I interested in it right now.

Trash the attitude. Be thankful for the help you are getting and get on with it. Read the thread on how to import an air rifle and do it yourself.

Listing 1 and 3 dont exists or exists virtually , that means they dont have a range neither they provide any facilities for any kind of shooting. There are only three shooting ranges in Kolkata , North Kolkata Club, South Kolkata and Central Kolkata, there is another private club called space circle provide shooting range facility in kolkata.

I understand you want to import an air rifle through pyramidair, and to do so someone has to be a member of any registered rifle club , which you have already mentioned. but May I know the make and model you wish to import ? If its among the popular brand like diana , you may get it brand new in kolkata without much hassales. or you could look for the same in sells section in this Forum time to time as many members often sells their stuff, Obviously the prices are on the higher side in some cases. May be that could be one of the option , incase you have trouble finding someone volunter for you. Since the money and risk both belongs to you and someone has to play the role of odereing the stuff for you, you may contact someone in North Kolkata Rifle Club, May be the officials there can help you out , but offcourse they wont do it for free I guess. but still it would be cheaper than buying it from some dealer here in Kolkata.

Hey guys, I am really very sorry for my rude behavior and my arrogant attitude. I am really very grateful to all the members of IFG for the help they have provided me ever since I joined and it I know it was very rude of me to talk to like that. It will not happen again. I didn't mean to insult anyone or hurt anyone's feelings, so please excuse me. Please don't mind.

By the way, I called up East India Arms Co. and shared my problem with them. Unfortunately, they said that they can't import any gun for me even if I paid extra delivery charges!! So I guess, i'm back to square one! Can anyone please tell me the name and phone number of a dealer/shop/club etc who would be wiling to make the import for me? I would really appreciate it if somebody helped me here.

Here's one more thing: The gun which I want to buy from Pyramyd Air and get it imported to Kolkata is: SIG Sauer P226 model. It costs $29 and also comes with free BBs/Pellets(optional). So if anyone, who can import the above gun for me or can help me in any possible way, please help.

My Dear, the gun you are talking about is not typically a target gun, bb guns are not comparable to pellet guns if you are really interseted in target practicing; these guns are replica of fire arms and people like us who cant own and afford these kinds of guns finds our solace in replicas , but again as far as target practices are concerned bb guns are not your best bet.

Guys we are our own saviors, let us not look any further and join NAGRI. See the pathetic state government has created that we cannot even import an air rifle, on the other hands criminals have AK 47s. Let us help ourselves and join NAGRI to fight for our cause. If we work together, the day is not far when we will be able to import all this freely.

If I understand you correctly, you are asking someone to help you in breaking the law by purchasing a pellet pistol for you as you are legally unable to do so.

What I would suggest is that you do not do this. Why do you not join NAGRI and work hard to get the laws changed so that you may do so legally? Or if not that, then join a shooting organization and become actively involved and become legally qualified to posess one at that point?

If more people put as much effort into changing unjust laws as the prosecutors put into criminalizing otherwise law-abiding people affected by those laws, the world might become a much happier and healthier place.

CO2 Pellet Pistols are not illegal in India (check indian arms act 1959), I have checked with a number of dealers & shooters across the country to verify. But what they are selling they are all 'used' I am not getting this product what I want. I am already a member of NAGRI, but for this I don't need to change the law.

But what Mark is saying is absolutely correct, since you are yourself not a member of an airrifle club you are illegible to own it in the first place, provided someone does sells his imported toy to you then it perfectly alright. Pm me your number. I may have something interesting to tell you. Am cross checking.

Came across some interesting stuff. Howrah rifle club membership is very affordable so planning to have the membership first & import in my own name.
