dear bodhijobs,
it seems something unusual , yet you did not mention the distance . my .22 local goes through and through on 1 ltr paint dibba at 14 mtr with united shots pointed pellets.
You have many members experienced enough at Delhi to help you out.

Hi Basu,

The distance is touching 10 meters...I used mastershot pellets, those with the pointed heads...0.177...

I am not sure about the thickness of the can though...i would also check with paint can, if i can find one...

0.22 calibre should be a bit more powerful though i believe...

Tried to do a grouping...National 35, 0.177 calibre...about 10 m distance...indoors...kneeling position...

10 shots were fired...1 was way off target, rest 9 can be seen...

please comment...your comments would be highly valuable for me...

Dear All,

I am facing a unique problem...cant say unique but a problem nonetheless...

It is happening sometimes (often) that I push my pellet in my 0.177 N 35 and it doesnt fire and remains exactly at the place where the pellet was pushed in...so i load my rifle again and it fires...however the uniqueness of the event is that when this happens, the power of the rifle becomes much higher and it puntures through almost everything...like a laminate board...however when i fire normally, it doesnt puncture through...

this problem started couple of days back...

can anybody please help me out...i am all at seas with this...

in my experience mastershot pointed heads very inaccurate pellets, so shots on upper part probably due to pellets quality , then you got quite good group on the left from the center

Even i had the same problem.. The problem lies in the breech hole.. The breech hole is too small for a standard pellet to fit in... So the cheap pellets who are normally of small size fit well through.. When i had got the Mastershot Flat heads for my 0.177 it used to get stuck in the breech and stayed where it was after firing i can even hear an air movement inside the gun. What i did is took it to my the person from whom i purchased it and he drilled the breech hole a bit more making the diameter of the breech a bit bigger. And the problem stands solved.. As of now dont shoot with the rifle. It may damage your internals...

i tried firing at tin dibbas, with my ihp 35 .22, distance around 10ms, with master shot pointed pellets,
the pellet did puncture it but didn't pass through the other side, i guess ihp's are less powerful than some local mades. :!:

Delmonte Story Continues...

Ok, this one is as per Dev ji's idea...the delmonte can was filled up with water and fired at from the same distance as before...the pellet made a nice run through the front of the can, almost teared through the back side and fell inside...all 3 pictures are attached...

Bodhi,

Think your rifle is easily doing 500 or so fps. Believe me that is enough for what an air rifle is supposed to do. I am sure that it will shoot well even at twenty five meters. Enjoy yourself.
