Since this forum has a very experienced following, I need your expert advice on whether my decision is right on the models chosen
Also, I would like to know who is the best seller to buy from?. pyramydair, schiesssport-buinger.de or stopper.de(no reponse to my emails)
Any advice or suggestions in this regard will be greatly appreciated.

HI everyone once again,
The co2 pistol and the Airsoft gun has been delivered to me within 24 days. I just couldnt believe that this could happen as i was expecting a delay in the mumbai customs. But it got cleared easily. Airgunstyle.com is a good site for ordering as the package comes through USPS.
But the drawback lies that they are never gonna ship the CO2 catridges as it is not permitted. I never got the 40 CO2 catridges. Now in india, they are selling Rs 125 per cartridge and the minimum order should be of 100 pcs. Now, buying an airpistol was easy enough, but i guess its gonna cost a lot for the CO2's....
This is the tracking information given to me through USPS:

Happy shooting and its definitely a deal for Rs8,500/-

But I am sure Co2's are going to work way expensive than your Air Soft toys.

Hey Guys, I have imported a .177 cal, 4.5 bore air pistol, which has been detained by Mumbai custom. Met the concerned officer yesterday & he demands my membership proof at any NRAI affiliated club & I am not a member at any club currently. I already enquired with two clubs in Mumbai, they require me to complete a two weeks basic course & thereafter pass some exam, before making me a member. Don't have that kind of time. Need info on any NRAI affiliated club in India that could make me a member instantly, upon payment of membership fees. Would appreciate the help. Thanx.

Howz abt truth of stories that custom not clearing .177 air rifles even with rifle club membership, Officials from shooting sports body sitting at customs and only approving those which can be used for competitive shooting or letter from DGFT etc? My personnel experience with some of guys from courier co is that they are hand in glove with customs and try making fast bucks (with or without vernier caliper). Off course there are people sitting on pile of air rifles which they imported in hope of making tidy profits as some times ago there were rumours of Govt going to allow import of only match grade air rifles. (Who could be behind these rumours?)

The notification stands. If you have rifle club membership, go ahead and import and pay no duty. Problem with condor import is created one specially if you use Fedex to import.

Cheers
Biren

Ashpatwari: You need to act fast in your case. The NRAI membership requires reference from existing members.
Also meanwhile the customs will start charging warehousing charges. In the past I have paid 25K fine for a 3 months storage due to Pellets in my shipment.

How did you determine that you can clear a Air Rifle / Pistol shipment without any membership? Was it UPS or USPS who carried your shipment?

Jibran wrote:Hi guys,
I ordered airguns on 28th of July from Airgunstyle.com through USPS priority international. The airguns Include:
Pro77 CO2 pistol
CP99 Spring pistol
40 Cartridges of CO2
6,000 Metal BB's.

The cost has incurred $119 and Postal charges include $76.
The total cost in INR is 8,500.
1st of August, my package has left U.S.
I dont have any airRifle membership but i think it wont be necessary as i am shipping only pistols. It just takes a week to get a Membership so i m cool about it. Now the only thing remains is to wait for the parcel to arrive in mumbai and i really have no idea of Mumbai's Foreign Postal Customs...
Has anyone ordered an Airgun in mumbai through Posts??? I would really appreciate if anyone has any suggestions for this.
I wanna be prepared and try not to waste any time in getting my beauty thing.

hi Jibran

i am thinking of ordering following airguns from airgunstyle.com
1. Crosman 357W, CO2 Revolver, 0.177Cal
2. Makarov PM CO2 BB Pistol, 0.177 Cal.

only airguns no pellets

i want to know does one require to be member of any rifle club to get those air guns or i can get it without membership

also can you give some more details on your expirence on your above mentioned import oh yes one last thing upload some photos & video of your new air guns

thanks friend in advance

Shankar wrote:Hi Folks,
This is my recent experience importing a Airforce Edge from Pyramid Air.
I had to start my son on something at the 10meters range and after doing a bit of reading of B B Peltiers reviews, decided to order the Edge. This was after imports from pyramidair through FEDEX which handles it very efficiently.
Thinking that it would follow the same route , I was in for a surprise. ( call it a nightmare ).
As scheduled, it arrived in Delhi and I got a call from the clearing in charge at fedex that the customs are looking for stamp that said it was .177 caliber. They said that it would be detained as this was not to be found anywhere on the airrifle. I, in the meantime shot a few emails to pyramid air and Airforce asking them to clarify. Airforce got back saying it made this only in .177 caliber and no other size. It offered to clarify in any which way so as to clear with the customs. The only mention was in the instruction manual about the caliber but the customs would not buy it.
Vmanics came to my help and advised that a trip to Delhi with the right sized pellets in hand would do the job of convincing the caliber size. I got in touch with Jaikirit Bisth ( with fedex) who is a pistol shooter in Delhi and he offered to convince them about its caliber if I sent him a Vernier slide caliper which I did.
I thought my troubles were over with it and waited patiently for over a week. Nothing happened and the customs insisted about the marking on the rifle.

Here is my advice to those of you importing air pistols and rifles: check with the supplier among other things if the manufacturer has engraved/stamped/embossed .177/4.5 mm on the barrel or anywhere on the pistol/rifle.
It is not sufficient if the invoice/manual/packing/AWB said so.

My air rifle did reach me a month later after a friend helped, the details of which I am forbidden to reveal.
I have not seen on the thread here any such experiences by IFG members though Fedex in Delhi did mention that there were quite a few imports with such problems.

So, folks , do share your experience so others here can learn through your experience and avoid hassles.
A special mention about the team at FEDEX in Delhi who were with me all along helping in any which way they could.

Goodluck and regards......... Shankar
dear shankar i am also planning to import edge for my kids do you have any experience that it will not permitted in issf and state level competion according to new rules warm regards shariq

Shariq: You can also try Walther LG30 and they are of ISSF standards, slightly lighter and cheaper.

Dev: Pellets are allowed thro courier. However I don't think UPS or FedEx would clear the shipment? Only option is too bring few tins through checked baggage and keeping your fingers crossed  till you walk out through customs

Best rifle to practise would be HW30 Springer. Try to get Diopter rear sight (Air Arms, Diasy) with Aperture inserts. Its definitely worth for starters.
