Hi rksitaraman! Could you please share your experience of importing the air rifle with all details like which air rifle, port of delivery, when and how you bought it, etc., etc. I'm sure it will be beneficial to all of us. Thanks!rksitaraman wrote:nupadhya
Try euroshooting.eu. I just imported an air rifle.

Of course it is a legal document and has force of law, because this notification has been issued using the legislative powers of Parliament, delegated to the Central Government under Section 5 of the Foreign Trade (Development and Regulation) Act, 1992.

Yes, the guns are getting released from everywhere, not just Delhi. As far as your docs are proper, there's no hassle.

Re: Importing airguns into India
But FedEx in Delhi sucks biiiiig time!
My air rifle is stuck for over 2 months, and FedEx does not even care to respond to emails.
I have written to FedEx head office and PyramydAir about this horrible service. If ever I buy another air gun, I will ensure it has nothing to do with FedEx.
I dont understand why a Bangalore parcel was routed thru Delhi, in the first place. And despite several calls and requests, it is not routed to their Bangalore office, for reasons I cannot fathom. Now, even after weeks since Delhi has re-allowed clearance, a few sad blokes like me who dont have the right 'favourly' rapport with FedEx have to wait for them to first get over with their favoritism....
Hope no one has a sad story like mine to share

Re: Importing airguns into India
Sniper... Maybe so....
And maybe several have had good experiences with FedEx too... But my case is for real, and I only quoted what I am going thru
.... In some ways, it seems like I am broadcasting my feelings, but in other practical ways, it will also set right expectations with others who order, on discovering 'possibilities' that may just go right/wrong
Anyways.... My average response to emails from FedEx is about 1:6. They respond about once for every six mails I send, and my sixth mail of a new sequence should roll out soon. So lets see if I can evoke any positive response from them
Also, I know for sure that FedEx does not have their own clearing agency and has outsourced all their handling to an external clearing agent. They are thus that much short of being in a position of real-time decision making.

Re: Importing airguns into India
FedEx doesn't outsource the clearing. I don;t know how they do it in Delhi. Just tell them to file an official Bill of Entry, and send you the copy. They DO have clearance team. See - http://www.fedex.com/ancillary/go/servi ... A&dc=ca#59
Pay them the service fee, and they will be happy to assist you. Its pretty obvious that the customers who pay, would get serviced on priority. we all work for money, right?
I got my gun cleared in 3 days. I don't mind paying 2-3k per shipment, but that avoids headaches and high BP.

Re: Importing airguns into India
hi Tiwariarrun...
I believe FedEx works with Jeena & Co for clearance in Delhi. Mumbai and Bangalore.
Check "Going Places with Fed Ex" in the following link:
http://www.jeena.com/news_archive3.htm#t18
and "straight from the heart" at this link:
http://www.jeena.com/news_archive1.htm
You can also note FedEx requirements for jobs in Jeena & Co at:
http://www.wisdomjobs.com/view_job.php? ... 803&flag=t and http://jobsearch.naukri.com/job-listing ... 1111900047
Also, see their listing at:
http://www.justdial.com/National-Search ... -Clearence
And for the records, it not about money at all. My demur-rage charges for over two and a half months is way above twice the transport charges ... And the fee that they charge for transport already covers service fees for clearance. Please dont make me think like I am counting pennies.
