Dear TC,
I know that you had to spare time from your busy schedule and do it for me.
Thanks, thanks indeed for your candid support.
I am expecting few lines of your comments about SDB 45 Classic.

Nice. Having used an SDB for years (without knowing what brand it was until someone on IFG identified it for me) I am tempted to look at these again. Sadly the company does not appear keen to set up a nationwide network and apart from a couple most dealers in Bangalore appear both ignorant and disinterested - or maybe they have tie ups with other manufacturers.

Like my old Weihrauch, the SDB 45 has a front sight mounted on dovetail notches making the possibility of changing the front sight real.

Dear Briha,
When I said abou high end , I meant about price and value addition.Presently it it selling at Kolkata at RS 6500/- plus tax.
SDB 2000 comes with Diana 35 type trigger ,make and look.
I have tested the gun only and it was of a different league.
The actual observations are well covered in this thread by FN-Five-seven.
There are some dealer who insist to sell low quality products at a higher price.
Any one who intend to buy these guns, may contact the dealer already given in this post.
I am very happy owning this gun.
Needless to mention all there guns require tuning to get optimun performance.

Just happened to come by this shorty SDB .22 AP on kovibazaar. Maybe i must've missed it earlier but this seems to be a newer layout from any Indian firm. Comes in .177 too. Finally some competition to my darkangel

I did not see it before.
The design reminds me of old flint guns.
SDB guns are known to me due to excellent performance.
I wonder about the performance level of this pistol.
Thanks for the information shared.

I have seen and fired this pistol. Performance is decent, good FPS for a pistol and the gun is VERY quiet. Alas,it is a smoothbore so its accuracy beyond a few metres would be suspect.

Dear scarecrow3,
I understand that presently SDB has further modified the pistol by adding muzzle break both in 0.177 and 0.22.
None of these bores are smooth but nicely rifled with extra lapping.
The pistol, which you fired may be an old one with smooth bore.

Please mention SDB AR's manufacturer's contact details and address if anybody have ,

If SDB ARs are such good , it'd be best Indian option for beginners , especially shooting acadamies, clubs ... 8)

I understand that SDB has other models like 25 , 27 which are smaller in size and could be very good for target shooting both for adult and teenagers.
Since I did not test those models so I can not comment about them.

Do anyone in the forum has an experience in SDB 250 model (0.22Cal/5.5mm)?

On a first impression the gun looks to me a under lever but after reading it's description found it is again a break barrel one.

Dear Basu Da,
Greetings!
Although new on IFG, I have learnt a great deal on air guns from you, and have been an all-time admirer of yours. I, too, have bought myself an SDB 45 -going primarily by your account of it....of course the gun is something anyone will fall in love with at first glance. I now want to get a lighter model to share with my adolescent child for plinking. Both my PH VX100 and SDB 45 are heavy for her.
Now, I have taken a liking for two SDB models- the 2.9 kg SDB Mod 27 (mainly for its Bavarian style stock and standard size action receiver) and the 2.6 kg SDB Mod 25 (mainly for its fetherlight cocking and extra small dimensions). However, the latter is truly a junior model - Its extra small receiver will hardly allow for any tuning of power etc later on. Both are available locally and I can pick one -once i have a sense of sane advice from someone like you please.
I have a small budget and so can not invest in a Sport at this point in time. Kindly do advise me. Will be ever so grateful.
Thank you and God Bless!

Dear Prashant,
After the painful exit of IHP from Indian Mkt , Precihole and SDB are the two companies who are offering some choices to customers.
I put below the details of Two SDB models :
Sport
Weight - 3 kgs or less
Bore- .177
Trigger-double pull , weight adjustable
Velocity- 860 fps with 7.5 gns
Accuracy- very accurate
Feature- nice weight distribution
Recoil - low
Sound- moderate
Utility- Option for Target shooting and plinking
Speciality - most under rated gun at low cost.
Look- good

GenNex

Weight - 2.7 kgs or less
Bore - .177
Velocity - 665 fps with 7.5 gns Unitedshot RH
Accuracy - can be one holer at 10 mts with Precihole FH 8 gns
Trigger - weight adjustable , double pull
Feature - very handy, tireless shooting experience
Recoil - lower
Sound - higher than Sport
Utility - effective till 30 yds
Speciality - can carry any where without being noticed
Look - too beautiful
If you have 50-60 yds range , it is good to have Sport.
Otherwise GenNex is the best choice.
My both guns are true value for money.

Loads of thanks, Basu Da, .....for the excellently articulated expert opinion as much for the kind promptness with which you cared to respond despite the Pujo festivities!! I can't express my gratitude enough for this kind gesture of yours.
And my child has this to say reading your response....."Papa, pls save more so we can buy a Sport or a Gennex ......." (I can see her face drooping though...)
Clearly, Basu da, you are not advising us to go for either Mod 25 or 27....even though they will cost less than half of a Sport or a Gennex. Isn't it? Surely, things have improved greatly in these last of years.....but really, do these old models (25 or 27) absolutely stand no chance today?...not even as a first plinking gift to a child? Just thinking aloud.....
My heartiest gratitude once again to you for your splendid advice!
Sincere regards and God Bless you and your family,
Happy Pujo!!
