Couple of months back i dismantled my TX 200 trigger for polishing internals as i heard that it makes the trigger release more crisp, i found that CD trigger has lesser parts than Rekord trigger so easier to assemble

Now that we've singularly & collectively "TRIGGERED" a critical analysis of a 'World Class' Trigger ....let's hope that those who stand enlightened in the process on making one ......deliver their promise

Briha ji you can rest assured about my 'brain-chewing' abilities.. Already I can hear subtle 'groans of pain & divine injustice' from the manufacturer as I share all of your inputs!
Lets see! I would always suggest something that's amongst the best but ultimately its up to the manufacturer..

They didn't listen to me about the stock so I asked for adjustable cheek support & butt plate attachments instead! Will do some 'jugaad' & ensure the thing eventually behaves in an 'acceptable' 2-stage fashion atleast!

Thank you very much moulindu! How do you find it vis a vis Rekord and any other triggers you may have used.. What are the quirks & the differences you felt in each case?!

This is very true
* Target shooters by & large prefer a light trigger - with a two stage pull...
* Trigger pulls are personal preferences - and the variables many....
1. Grip
2. Size of palm & finger
3. Levels of comfort
Most important of all the feel....when one knows exactly at what stage the trigger will release.....
All said & done, the element of continuous smoothness in travel & the sensitivity to pressure is of prime importance....
These parameters are the result of perfect machining of the sears, levers & their positioning.....

I have come to know that even Walther LGV is using the same Rekord/CD trigger design but that LGV trigger is set in a trigger block & it is unremovable, all the above triggers are adjustable for length of 1st & 2nd pull & trigger pull weight by adjusting three different screws.

I didnot shot any other foreign ARs but one my friend who possesses both TX200 & HW95 mentioned that both the triggers are as good as each other. I have shot few indian brands though & the biggest development one can do to those triggers is providing mirror finish to those sears (both trigger & piston rod) with 2500 n up sand paper followed by metal polish & then applying moly before assembly.
I worked on the trigger of SDB Apache by applying the same procedure & as it does have a screw behind trigger to adjust pull weight it does help a lot. For feel of first stage they put a spring in the gap between the trigger base & housing, if that gap is made larger & with lighter spring the first stage would have been more prominent.

With all the "Gyan" you're assimilating, what are you going to do with them?
1. Manufacture your own brand of AR....
2. Advice the present manufacturer on how to put these info to good purpose....
3. Or a 'Good Time Pass' to have the 'Last Laugh'

OFB being OFB will continue manufacturing its crap, I intend to set up a small custom tactical-weapons venture post an early retirement about 10-12 years down the line...

Point 3 will come later when OFB is privatized & my firm takes it over some 20 years hence!

Received the new piston washer today. Fitted the new piston, seal and spring and chrono results are as below.

The fit of the seal is perfect I think. After break in, I guess the performance improves.

I test a synthetic seal like this. With the receiver tube held vertically if we place the piston with seal fitted in the tube and let it go, it would slowly descend down due to the piston weight with the transfer port is not covered. When the piston is descending if we place a finger on the transfer port and block it the piston should stop. This piston and seal just does that. Is my way correct or not?
It seems the AARMR sports is not going to improve the trigger. They also think that a Top Hat is not really necessary.So they didn't send one. The original spring was 10-3/4th inches long. The new spring is 14 inches long. It seems they sent an uncompressed raw spring. After fitting the spring and leaving the gun cocked for one hour the spring size reduced to 11 inches. The Teflon spring guide greatly improved the smoothness and eliminated buzz etc. The new seal is good. The Trigger is the same and very inconsistent when shooting continuously.
My guess is they would not bother with any further improvements and sell their gun in the present form and may be with those adjustable comb and but plate Main13 says about and which I don't think would transform this stupid stock into a super stock and would be as poorly designed as the stock itself.

The only thing left for me to report as I said I would is the accuracy tests at longer ranges. Which I shall do within the next week and post the photos of the groups I could manage at different ranges.
