Hi bennedose,
> While going through your slow motion video today I noticed something I had missed earlier....
> The pellets you shot at those targets were almost dead-centre - Wow!!! It talks a lot about your shooting skills too (thanks for the slow motion effect - one could see the pellets in flight & where they hit)
> Another thing - Looks like the gun you used was SDB - am I right? The front sight looked different from those in IHP & Orion....

Hi
SathyaSniper & Bennedose great show guys. I have to say you guys have inspired me to make a video as well . By the way whats the editing software used in those videos. I really appreciate & respect you for the time & effort you put for creating each videos .

Thanks for the nice compliment Briha, but I need to clarify that the range was low - 5-8 meters on average. The main problem was the need to aim slightly high because the pellet woulkd otherwise hit too low as it was still climbing up to be level with the sight-line.
I used the SDB deliberately as its muzzle velocity is lower - I wanted to be sure that the pellet was seen
But I have done a few with the Orion - I will put up one soon a test of penetration ability of GSmith Steel head versus GSmith hollow point.

Moulindu - I urge you to start making videos to fill YouTube with Indian gun enthusiast videos! Dozens of good and free software packages are available. On Windows I tend to use "Virtualdub" (Open Source freeware). You can add a separate audio by recording it separately using sound recorder. On Linux I use "Open Shot" video editor.

Hi bennedose,
> Well documented video showing difference between steel tipped & hollow point pellets...
> The inference is simple to understand....
1. Steel tipped pellets penetrate well due to their reduced contact area...also steel tip is harder than a coconut shell....
2. While hollow points have comparatively large surface area contact - besides hollow point has a tendency to expand on contact especially with a hard surface like a coconut shell - hence no penetration....
> This point is of-course "splitting hair"-
Steel tipped pellets ballistically perform better - while hollow points confront air resistance in a different way - although both were fired from the same air-gun...
> Armour piercing bullets are always (FMC) Full Metal Clad - they don't use soft nosed ammo for this...likewise steel tipped pellets have better propensity to penetrate...as seen in your video!
> Try the same shooting into transparent glycerin soaps - use a slow motion camera to record this - should be interesting to watch...

These are superb videos bennedose. Amazingly well done. Seeing the pellets in mid air is certainly a treat. Good Shooting AND Good Shooting keep em coming.
