if one tries to dis mental the scope one could ruin it as most scope are gas filled(something like that) for a clear vision.

if the scope is tilting, try it on a different airgun, if no tilt then its not the scope, try a differnt set of mounts, and narrow it down in this manner. last thing one wants to do is dismental the scope.

Yep like Naga said, dont strip down the scope. The gas inside is nitrogen (mostly) IIRC, and if the scope is opened up it will bleed away.

What's the big deal about that, you may ask ? Well, primarily the scope is gas filled to prevent moisture buildup which leads to fogging.

Is refilling possible ? Yes and No.

Yes if you have a Vaccum chamber, the scope can be repressurized with appropriate equipment.
No otherwise.

on second thought,

it could be the mounts, if they are not aligned correctly they may cause the tilt effect.if the scope was high or low then one could use a shimming but if it is left and right??? may be bases are not correctly mounted on the rifle, this may cause the lilt.

best way is to eliminate each part, by testing on a different rifle bases/mounts. its means having a spare one or borrow from someone.

last and hope not, the barrel may be mis aligned, hope not. if noting is wrong, then its the scope.

have you tried to take the crosshair to the extreme end and then bring it back to centre, this should be the last thing before declaring the scope as defective.

Dear Nagarifle, Sniper and OUP,

I did try all the mentioned used spirit level, checked the mounts it seems ok, I am using a barreldroop compensator mount on my 54 airking. I had given the scope to the local armoury they checked the IR knob and corrected it(it was loose) but the scope crosshair is not rectified they dont have a clue how this happened. I think I need to contact Mack The Knife and get his advice on the matter.

Right now I have tilted it to the right for it to acheive centre.

I am not too good with cameras and computers but anyway I shall try and upload the photos once my exam is over.

yes, as sometimes the mag get to its end and may, i say may, cause problems, but this not necessary the problem with your scope.

what i am trying to say is that, its a process of elimination before doing something that can make the scope defective.
if the bases are ok fine, if the mounts are ok fine,etc.

heck give a rusty a ring, as he has been out of service for a while and would be good to have him back.

The crosshair tilt has been corrected, I was meddling with the magnification and when I turned it from 9 all the way to 3 it positioned itself straight. guys sorry I did not post a picture of the scope I have not been able to borrow a camera and upload the pics. Thanks to everyone who helped.

Strange, ive never seen a scope do that.
might be that something is loose inside.

sniper I did try and PM him but did not receive a reply.

I had increased the magnification to 9 few months back and brought it back to 3 I guess that is when the problem had started. Few days back while plinking on the terrace it started to drizzle the gun and scope got wet. To wipe everything dry I removed the scope, mount and fiddled with it and just kept turning the magnification knob and I realised that the crosshair had aligned itself. I fired a few shots yesterday and the crosshair is still holding good.

Donot open the scope.All the scopes are normally nitrogen purged to prevent fogging.
