An update. For Diana 35 and 36 the current price in Dubai is Dhs. 700 or Indian Rs. 8,750.
That scope is for Dhs. 50 or Rs. 625. A box of 200 .22 pellets in Rs. 125 or Rs. 0.62 each.
The Indian dealer is apparently ripping off his customers.

But your post does confirm that Air Rifles are not banned in Dubai and they are relatively cheaper too; as often heard. Are any brands other than Diana available in Dubai ?

Any idea how much Diana 52 cost in Dubai.

Re: Diana mod. 36
Diana 52 also for the same price, about Dhs. 800 or Rs. 10,000. Most Diana Models range from Rs. 6,000 to 10,000. Small Cadet versions like 21 or 25 are for Rs. 4,000 to 5,000.
In Dubai Air Guns sales are open.. You can walk into the shop and buy what you like. Danish brought one when he came here in 2002.
Besides Diana, all products from BSA, Gamo, Cometa, Walther, Webley Scott and Weirech ( HK make ) are available.
But for a barrel break air rifle, I reckon Diana remains the most popular in these parts.
Extremely cheap Chinese made stuf is also available in street shops for Rs.1,000 to 1,500. This is somewhere in the below National range class, somewhere akin to what Meerut and Kanpore makers dish out in the Indian market.

Re: Diana mod. 36
I think thats costly. I've seen brand new .177 HW80 with a dealer at Bangalore. He was asking 30K for that and I think 1 or 2K can easily be shaved off depending on ones bargaining powers.Hunter";p="11645 wrote: BTW there is a brand new HW80 in .177 cal for sale cost INR 35000/- any takers??

Hi Inder,
This person has just sold the HW80 at the price he had quote ie inr 35000/-.
About people on this forum commenting on how the dealers are ripping off customers as to where air-rifles are concerned,I once met a person in Dubai who is a sort of a carrier and he commented that the customs are now become very uneasy when its comes to bringing in airguns, partly I presume because of their ignorance ! This has led them to ask more greasing money for the settings and hence the carrier naturally hikes his asking amount for the product. The dealer is going to definately make his cut too! So eventually the poor shooter is left paying a high price for the end product! At the end of the day the way I see it, is , yes you are shelling out a lot more towards something you like doing, but,at least you dont deal with that uncertainty(boys in white)when u land into an Indian airport!
Small price to pay for some peace of mind.

Hunter,
You want to buy 5 air rifles.Your friend picked up 2.Which part of the world do you live in.Certainly not India. Here getting ONE across is considered to be a victory and draws conratulatory posts from members based in India. How do you do it

Re: Diana mod. 36
Ah...penpusher that was an overstatement from me as Shahid had quoted in error about the Diana 52 being almost Inr 6000 less in cost! Yes my friends did pick up 2 350 mags in Dubai only last week. Well getting one across is not really that big an issue if u know the right sort of people. Mind u,doing your own homework and being able to quote the law to the C/O's on arrival also helps a ton. I can relate to u my experience when I brought in a brand new BSA Stutzen many years ago ...but that would mean a new thread..whenever I have that kind of time.
Bye for now!
