Juggad dose not need John Knibbs even yamaha shock absorber spring also fits in there. I advised a fellow since he was using a refined product developed scientifically by true airgunner. I forgot a good saying that "free advice is never valued" before posting my comment.

I think you don't know what you are talking about or just can't read. What Sapta is talking about is shortening a spring to fit a particular rifle. Read carefully before airing your impudence.

Dear I always measure thrice & cut once. I have read the thread very carefully & then only a made a suggestion. He has fitted a spring & found it's power better than before but he is not happy with pre-compression of the spring. He wants to increase the that is why Rustom & I suggested him to have stacking of washer. Sapta is asking him to put a small piece of spring to do the same thing.

It is clear now that who needs to be careful. Be sporting enough to accept your mistakes also. It can improve your knowledge only. I learned a lot from my mistakes only. Don't take it personally & pleas mellow down your tone.

I don't think my tone was as spicy as it should have been. I don't think you have any know how of a person's knowledge level. So don't make suggestions about who needs to learn what.
It is better that you read the forum for a while before cutting once.

Dear just as I said earlier every spring is designed as per required application. As you can see that shock abs are having repetative comression & de-compression action but much of the shock is absorbed by oil through getting squizzed through small hole. Whereas airgun spring has to sustain almost all the shock on it's own. The resultant twang / force could be great enough to break faulty spring or piston / guide. At the same time it can also loose it's shape memory & eventually have less power ( Unsprung strength ).

That is why all the springs are made with careful selection of material, length, distance between each turn of spring & no. of turns as well. Everything has domino kind of effect on final outcome. Little bit here & there is always anticipated but something like packing with small piece of spring from different make or using shock abs springs in airgun are never advised by a sane person with least regard for saftey & common sence.

You are most welcome if you need any more detailed help to improve your airgun performance.

Well, its a weekend night, spirits are high, tensions as high as a compressed yamaha spring. Dev, the post you reacted to was actually about increasing spring length, not cutting it down! No offence intended by pointing it out, but it seems some members are enjoying other members squabble.
