Re: My new Daw`s Spring action side levered rifle
@vassili, I enquired. They said that they can but you have to transfer the funds to the account. Why don't you talk to them directly? Their phone no. Is available in Facebook too. N c daw has a page in it. @emty. The rear sight is adjustable. I had some minor adjustments done on the front sight. A little manoeuvre is what's needed. I am yet to mount a scope though I already have acquired a scope with 11mm mounts and scope rail, but I am averse to drill holes near the chamber. This gun doesn't have any provision for mounting a scope. I am going to try with araldite. Let's see the results.

@vassili: they want u to deposit the price in their bank account. @emty: front n rear sights are not bad. The rear is adjustable. I haven't yet fixed a scope on it as I am averse to drilling holes on the chamber. It's better to leave the scope option.

Re: My new Daw`s Spring action side levered rifle
Debjeet - I have two break barrel ARs, although I didn't get the chance to use them for several years. But still i want to add a side lever and experience the difference. Was actually thinking for DIANA 48 in .22, but to order/import them seems quite demanding - requiring lots of document and what not. Therefore I decided to go for an Indian made and in the process came across your write-ups of the DAWS sidelever in .22 pellet when fired from side levered rifle/ How to fix a scope rail on the cylindrical chamberof my rifle/ Scope for my gun. Piecing the information & photos together, I am concluding that DAWS sidelever seems to be a better choice, I am particularly convinced as you said it is modeled in line of Diana 48. I have visited several store/shops in Delhi and came across only one (breach loader) HAWK side lever Indian made, but the finishing and the stock was disappointing. For now I am taking the time to get an overall pictures of the Daws SL rifle.
Regarding mounting of scope - In a feed backs to query by Avishek Sarkar in Daws facebook, they replied - yes you can get a side lever of air rifle. they will cost you aroun 6000 /= . scopes for rifles will cost you around 2000 /= fitting cost extra . Any idea ‘How do they (daws the manufacturer) fix the scope? By cutting rail on the gun or some other means? If they cut rail or add some modification i want to request them to do the same before placing an order.

> For fixing a scope there are 2 options:
1. Drill & tap the receiver & then screw on a separate scope rail
2. This is providing the AR already comes with machined grooves on its receiver - If it is not there, then it is not advisable to remove the receiver & then have the grooves machined on it - this a precision job which local gunsmiths cannot do....
> Option No.1 is therefore advised.

Re: My new Daw`s Spring action side levered rifle
@brihaji..exactly sir. This rifle doesn't come with grooves. Therefore I had to contain my initial enthusiasm for fixing a scope rail on it. Doing something like that might permanently damage the rifle and affect its performance. @emty, he finishing is good..I had to do some works on the stock for some shine. The difference with Diana 48 lies on 2 counts ..namely a) the anti bear trap is at the bottom of the fore stock of this rifle while in Diana it's beside the chamber and b) unlike Diana, it doesn't have a safety catch. Another drawback of this rifle is that it's pretty heavy. You need to be a real muscular stud to handle this baby ...but again beauties have always been difficult to be handled. But anyways, I am pretty satisfied with this stuff and it's performance. It packs within itself some real macho power.

Haaa…@ debjeet the analogy on weight is interesting. There is always certain aspect of give and take, therefore as long as she is a beauty (finishing is good) and packed with real power one needs to sacrifice and bear the burden. But she seems to be a keeper. @ brihaji I have taken note of your expert suggestion, thanks for the insights.
