GNV wrote:Dear Sir,
I don't mean any disrespect. As you said it is just a copy of the DIANA MODEL 25 and not a Diana Model 25. I started learning shooting with a Diana Mod 25 in 1969 when I was 9 yrs old. It was a sweet gun. Even though it has no windage adjustment on its rear sight the sights were so true that it was always dead on windagewise and one only has to adjust the sliding elevation graduated adjuster for the required range. That rifle was very accurate in its limits. I am also a tinkerer with air guns and the best part in your case is that you got your gun for less than the cost of 3 packs of cigarettes. The joy you will get would be mostly from working on the gun to get it to perform rather than actually getting it perform satisfactorily from the looks of the gun in your photographs. Even that effort would be worth the cost of spending your time and money because only those who love to tinker with their air guns to make them perform well understand the joy doing so gives. I wish you the best of luck in your venture to restore your gun. In my case I knew very little actually nothing about lubricating and maintaining a spring piston air rifle properly until 1986. I abused my little Diana in every possible way including dry firing it countless times, lubricating the spring with Singer oil and worst of it applying singer oil through the transfer port to make it diesel to produce the bang and the resulting high powered shot with smoke and that smell. I had even cocked and pulled the trigger many times without closing the barrel which should have resulted in an up bent barrel. But it didn't. It took all that abuse in its stride and remained true and accurate till the day I parted with it in a weak moment in 1982. One more thing Diana 25 didn't have any scope mounting rails. However a low powered gun like that meant for 10 to 15 yrds effective range needs no scope. Anyway best of luck with your gun. Sorry if I bored you with my rubbish above. Your mentioning about Diana Model 25 took me back my memory lane.
regards,
GNV.
P.S: Please do post the results of your efforts to restore your gun. Thank you.

bennedose wrote:The barrel pointed upwards is a serious issue. Does the rifle have no front or rear sight? Nornally with a barrel pointing upwards the rifle will shoot too high and even maximum depression of the rear sight may not work. If you repair the rifle try and adjust for that by having a very tall front sight and a rear sight that is depressed to the maximum extent.
Or else simply polish the weapon, shine it and keep it for display. Use something else for shooting.
Thank you sir
I will try to restore it...and would keep you posted regarding the developments .....might need few suggestions off and on from you....thank u sir

The thrill of the Hunt is in the chase... And it is indeed a pleasure to scrub, clean, hunt for parts, find someone to make u the parts, ignore the cold stares of Home ministry because u are spending more time with the rifle, and then finally put it togeather and shooting it
and if it does not hit the target.... Then "Simply polish the weapon, shine it and keep it for display"
Some learn by reading. A few by observation. The rest of 'em have to pee on the electric fence.

After all you got an opportunity to do some good restoration... Since the the model is a clone of Diana you may get which ever internal parts that are in need. Few clamps, hinge, a piece of wood and a long bolt and nut will give you gun vice... Have a great time and please keep clicking pictures and updating us... You are sure to educate and inspire many among this group...
