One day, I won't be surprised if they would be making firearms, and that they would sell worldwide.
+1 on that! And just hope the world includes India!!
Cheers!

I was in Bombay these past two days, and since the wife wanted to shop in Crawford Market/ Lohar Chawl I decided to pay four arms dealers a visit. I got chatting about the Precihole among other topics and all of them said the same thing: cocking arm-safety-trigger link problems. There are a lot of these ARs coming back, with many reporting the same problem.

The new one that I received did have the a similar problem, although to a much lesser extent. I notified the company accordingly.

The issue I feel is that the safety and trigger blades are die cast metal, unlike the other metal work which seems to be CNC cut. So maybe the tolerances are just not correct and engagement in not 100%. Moreover, they are chromed, which makes it stand out. Even the rear sight is die cast, which will shrug of it's paint or coating fast, or worse still, crack or break if the AR takes a fall. IHP uses stamped steel, much better for robustness.

Met Dr. Shirsat personally yesterday, and he returned the gun to me after having checked it himself and getting all the internals replaced. Fired about 150 shots and so far everything seems to be fine. For what it's worth, I still think that the Orion is head and shoulders above other Indian airguns, and the Company's quick response to my problem was greatly appreciated. I look forward to having some fun with this little plinker now.

Bad news. Trigger has gotten loose again. Giving it back to be fixed again. Dr. Shirsat says they'll change the whole trigger guard this time. Frustrating :(

Dear Boomshiva,
What happened to your Precihole air rifle? Was it replaced? Are you satisfied with it?
Please reply.

Guys,
Initial reviews, glance at the percihole gave a very impressive impression. However, reading through the thread, we realize that the internal mechanism leaves lot desired.I mean if the power is lost post 100 pellets, then what are we talking about.

No one has time and faith to run to gun smith after every 100 plicking.

Why not PH takes note of this an improve the internals.

There is a huge market in India.

Cheers...

There are few guns having some problems which was promptly sorted out by PH really good after sells service but one thing I have notice the members hear post their problem immediately but only few of them share experience after that

I have visited PH for few times but for some miner problem like

Trigger become loose, Rear site cross pin was coming out which I personally also can do it but I went to PH just to show them the problem as my Pegasus was from the very first batch

But last time I went to PH just to check the velocity of Pegasus

The problem is this- people make a bigger noise when something doesn't work right, rather than when something works well.
If Precihole sells a thousand rifles, and five out of them are bad - you'll probably hear from all five of them more than you'll hear from the other 995 who're happy or satisfied with the rifle.
That said - I am not sure what the % of happy vs sad customers is. I own a Pegasus and I'm pretty happy with it. I'd like a few small improvements, but it does what it was made for, and what I paid for. When I'm a rifle club member, and I'm still looking at getting a more accurate/quality rifle, I'll import one.
This forum is all about talking about your experiences and learning from others. More often than not - people post here when they have a problem and are looking for someone to help them, not when their gun works fine.

:agree:
I am not asking each & every member who buy PH guns to post their review only concern about those members who first post their problems & once it was repaired / replaced don’t bothers even just saying my gun was repaired/ replaced & now its working fine

Hey Guys...

Havent seen anyone responding on the precihole rifle issues/ fixes in 2013..!!!
Does this mean all the issues have been addressed and now the gun is glitch-free..?
Or you guys are not getting time to update your experiences with the readers out here..?

I currently own an IHP35 .177 for almost a year and am kind of satisfied (though not 100%) with it.
But when I saw you experts talking about the the new member into the market, the Precihole, thought of laying my hands on it...
It was really tempting and inviting, but thought of waiting a little bit to hear back from the market.
This kind of waiting has never let me down, till now.
did the same when the Mahindra XUV 5OO was launched, I made a booking and the delivery date period was 4 months down the line.
I cancelled the booking after 2 months, thinking that its an Indian manufacturer and only has launched it just now, There may be defects.
Tt payed of really well, the initial batch of machines that rolled out into the road were terribly faulty, with hell lot of glitches.
On the similar lines, inspite of the adrenalin rush, I kept myself calm & contained on the new rifle's call...
And here came the flood of issues...

I think there is something very common between the two cases...
Both Mahindra & Precihole intended to do the product testing at the expense of its customers...
The rifle doesnt seem to have gone through all the Quality Checks and hence the result.
I do not want to believe that the Precihole team rushed through the production line to cater to the gun lovers requests to bring it on to the market early as 'brihacharan' mentioned here... (No offences ment)
If they did so, it would be as good as hammering in the nail in their own coffin...
Considering they are new to the market and do not have any reputation, it would be really stupid to skip the proper testing cycle.

Anyways, Its a very good news and a relief that the manufacturers are ready to accept the issues and fix them promptly, which rarely happens these days.
Now that its quite some time that the procuct has been in the market, is it time to go for it..?
Would like to hear from all the precihole owners who bought it recently and who ever got it fixed with the new/ advanced technology parts.
Please keep this thread updated with your experiences...

Would like to know about the recent developments on namcmd's rifle.
Did you send it back to the Precihole team for the fix?
Or went to your trusted gunsmith for the fix?
How is your gun performing now...

Regards,
Arvind S.

I am changed rear sight pin (locked pin), and added a small alumin plate to under rear sight for proper aiming to morethan 20meter. changed all align key screw to normal screw.
Changed spring, washer, breach seal. refitted Trigger system.(now after 500 shots the trigger colour change to brazz colour)
Now working normal condition.
Nothing but Complicated!

An update...
Today, I shot (tested) a Dozen Precihole Club rifles.
Some things I noticed:
1. The rifle may come with lots of oil in the barrel and Breech. Check and clean well before use.
2. 3 out of the 12 had minor trigger problems. 2 of the 3 showed signs of a little friction and haggard trigger pressure. I have asked them to be removed to check for either (a) rubbing parts, (b) excess oiling/grease leading to duct accumulation, or (c) alignment issues.
3. 4 out of the dozen had a slight barrel droop. By the 3rd rifle, we could judge where the first pellet falls on the target. I, personally hate any barrel droop, which would make scope mounting unreasonably challenging.
4. About 4-5 of them showed slight (negligible) friction while cocking.
5. About 2 of the rifles showed slight uneasiness of the pellet sitting in the breach. Maybe the washer required slight wear and tear.
6. Undoubtedly, they were all better than probably any other IHP (MOD 35/25) ever.
7. The overall accuracy and trigger experience, including recoil was very good. I got several hole-in-holes in the 120+ rounds of of Finale Match that I fired (across all rifles).
8. The rear sight responded pretty well to aiming corrections.
9. I would also prefer the rear sight groove made slightly bigger, with the front sight a wee bit thicker. I also had a few other shooters try it out, and about 3 to 4 other shooters also had the same notion. This could be because of their (our) previous acclimatization to the IHP. Maybe some more shots on a PreciHole-Only mode will make us overlook this problem.

@namcmd:
How is you rifle doing after the upgrade?
Have you used similar spring or some other powerful spring when you changed?
How much did it cost you altogether for the fix, rather upgrade?

From your comment about the other available Precihole rifles from the gunstore in Trivandrum, it seems the bad luck with the Precihole still continues...
It seems we still will have to wait for the more tuned or trouble-free guns...

@TenX:
Where did you get a chance to try (testfire) over a dozen of Precihole riles; at some gun stores in B'lore?
Am also from B'lore and would like to lay my hands on the rifle.
I am not yet having the permissions to send PMs, could you please PM me with your email id so that we can discuss more.

Thanks,
Arvind S.
