want to buy a new air rifle

HI,

I'm new to this site and i'm looking forward to own my OWN air rifle.
I'm in chennai and i see that some of the other chennai guys had difficult in searching and buying new rifle the same way i had.
I had a number of experiences today where i checked in two of AIR RIFLE stores(I had visited "APPOLLO" and "D.SAMMANTHAN" both in mount road) here and found out that the price of locally made rifle is Rs.7500 for 35 .177 rifle (dont know the manufacturer name but surely LOCAL).
after i saw posts here and my visit to "aimco.co.in" i see the same can be purchased for Rs.4000.
Now my question is
1.Is there any place in chennai where i could go personally and buy the rifle myself(thru credit card).
2.Is there any franchisee's for AIMCO in chennai.
3.If both the answers for the above is no pls suggest me how i could get one thru trustworthy source.

also could any one provide me any contact nos for aimco as they are not picking up the call when i tried these numbers.

I quite understand your problem,I went through something similar.Nothing much U can do.I wanted 2 buy 1 once.Even I went after that shop 'Aimco' and found it.I've seen there rifles 1st hand & trust me I didn't like it as quality can be an issue.U r in Chennai,as good as Kolkata,in buying a rifle.Try 2 find out rifles made by National.Any major shop will retail it.They r of much better quality as compared 2 others made in India.And about the prices....in Aimco I saw .22 cal,35 at a much affordable price.....2500/- and .22 cal,95 at 2800/-
So,at 4000/-,I don't have any idea what have U seen,even National rifles here costs about 5000/-
U need a lot of re-searching 2 do....if U know what I mean...............All the best.

1- You can check in Tamilnadu armoury near Nanthanam for personal checking of airgun but not with credit card.the Ihp 35 model airrifle price may be around 5k-5.k but not less than that price in the city.
2)No is Aimco a calcutta based frim & no branch in chennai
3)the decision is let to you whether you buy in the city or log on to http://www.aimco.co.in

Buddy order it from Aimco. You would receive your rifle in 5 days and Joy is amazing person to deal with. The charges would be 3600(rifle)+200(Packing&handling)+400-800(Courier) so all together it is lesser than anyone selling out in the shop.

Dear Karthik,

I would give 5 star for Joy biswas of Aimco. i bought a IHP rifle through him. he is amazing. the rifle came packed in a wooden box. Before that i have checked almost all the shops in chennai. other then Tamilnadu armoury no one had the IHP rifle. he quoted me 4.5K for the same. The poor thing is he had only one rifle.

I would again suggest you to Order through Aimco then going through all the hassel of checking in chennai. do mail him and he is so prompt in replying emails. The email id is available in his website.
