air rifle in 0.22 cal in US
guys,
i want to buy an air rifle(spring piston) in 0.22 cal. from where in the US can i order a HW77k. as listed, both pyramidair and mac1airgun donot stock weihrauch guns. they only stock beeman. the beeman equivalent is not available in 0.22.
my other option is a air arms TX200 MkIII which is available in 0.22 cal.
what scope and scope mounts would you recommend for the above air guns.
thanx
regards
Parag

The TX200 MkIII in either barrel length is a very good choice. Buy the beech version and put the money saved towards better glass, mounts, pellets and gun bag.
I would suggest a one piece mount with an arrestor stud and four bolts per ring and four bolts for the clamping claw. Beeman sell the Sportsmatch mounts under their brand name and that is what you should buy even though it costs more than the Accushots, etc. You will find these on Pyramid Air. However, you should buy the mount only after deciding on the scope because the objective bell diameter and scope tube diameter will determine the type of mount.
As for choice of scope, it would have to be rated for a spring piston airgun but before I suggest one, you need to mention your budget (for the scope alone) and the primary use for this air-rifle.

I have no idea about the availability of .22 cal. HW77s in the U.S.. Why are you not considering the .177" cal.?
If you do go for the HW, I would insist you go for the carbine version HW77K instead of the full length HW77.
That's a very sensible budget for a scope. Go for the Bushnell Legends --- 2-7x32 or 3-9x40 or 4-12x40 or 5-15x40. The last comes with a mildot reticle, whilst the others have a duplex reticle. The last two have parallax adjustable objective bells.
Buy from this link... http://theopticzone.com/searchresult.aspx?CategoryID=40 or from e-bay which will be cheaper.

TX200HC feels a bit front heavy than HW77-97. I advise try all of them if you can before buying. It will be easier for you to take a good decision. As Rusty said why not a .177? It’s a flat shooting caliber and you can do all those things with .177 which .22 will do and if you really want a .22 then I suggest go with HW80K.
Good choice on the scope front. I never heard anything bad about Legends specially 5-15*40. It’s a sturdy scope; mine is still going strong after thousands of shots on my Diana 52 and mildots are good feature if you know how to use them.
Best of luck for your purchase, keep us informed..

That's the one! The eyebell will just clear the cylinder but you may not be able to put the front lens-cap on. In which case use a sharp knife to cut out the portion of the lens cap that is fouling with the cylinder.archer";p="51031 wrote:for that scope, would you recommend the following scope mount

The 5-15x40 is a good scope but due to it's length it will block the first quarter or so of the loading port.
In my experience the TX200 Carbine balances just fine.
