Dear Sidrao
Heres the remideee!!
a) Get 2 bricks
b) Place the pistol between them with the barrel facing the sky
c) pour sewing machine oil in the barrel - about 1 table spoons or till the barrel full.
d) top up oil after 2 hours.
e) forget about it for the next 10 hours.
f) after 10 hours fire a few blank shots - the exccess oil wil flow out.
g) Both the leather washers would have swollen & will not leak air for at least a month.
h) your pistol power will increase,

The only cost would be the oil & the 2 bricks. Hope I saved you some money

Happy shooting.
Warm regards
Shamsher

I tried your method shamsher. It has definitely improved the power. But how can I improve the accuracy? There is an error of about 6 inches at 10 m now.

When I had bought the gun (2 and a half years ago), the error was 1 inch. And also I can't change the sight of my gun. Its screws are welded shut to the gun. And the sight got bent now. What can I do?

Dear Sidrao
pls specify the make of your air pistol.
does the barrel have grooves ?
where does it generally shoot left-right-top or bottom of the target?
is it .177 or .22
is the front sight being mentioned or the rear one ?
Pls reply before a soution can be found

The drop in accuracy may be because of the barrel developing a slight bend, over usage and time. This will result in shots going lower. And since you cannot alter the sights sights, it is a bigger problem to correct the aiming point.
If it is shooting down, then you need to aim higher, and for this, you will effectively have to lower the fore sight or rise the rear. Vice versa if it is shooting 12 O Clock.

The pistol is of some local make.
Its .22 cal.
I don't think the barrel has grooves in it.
Rear sight is being mentioned here.
It shoots diagonally above to the left of the target.
Please tell me how can I rectify the problem..
Thanks in advance
Sid

Dear Sid
I Regret - this pistol will never be accurate nor consistant in it's perfomance.
It will always fire like a catapult - "never sure where the pellet goes"
I suggest you go for a .177 IHP spring piston pistol which should cost approx 2000/-
This shoots fairly straight - has got grooves in the barrel. good sights- good grip & above all, it's smooth.
I guess you would be buying guns this "Janmashtmi" rather than sweets and flowers - LOL
Best regards
Shamsher
