A new airgun for a beginner!

Post by TheLoneWolf » Sun Dec 16, 2018 12:29 pm

Hello Fellow Air Gun Enthusiasts!
I'm a 15-year-old teen who lives in Bihar and wants to get into the air Gun hobby. I want to get a good air rifle for about $250, I also need recommendations for a good and cheap rifle bipod or rifle rest and scope.
What type of rifle would be good for me?- PCP Rifle, Nitro Piston Break Barrel Rifle or Co2 Rifle?
How's the Polaris Nx100 from Precihole Sports?
The PCP rifles Precihole has are just too pricey.
I can try and import the rifle too from PyramidAir since they now ship to India as well, but when I click on 'Indian Shipping Guidelines' on their website I get a response saying this promotion has ended, so can anybody tell me about the Indian Shipping Guidelines for import of a .177 caliber Air rifle to India?
I also want to join the local Rifle Club, the Magadh Rifle Club, but one of my friends who to there told me that they would start accepting applications only in February of 2019, so I'll wait. Btw, how can I apply and what is required for me to apply to the local Rifle Club?

Please help me out guys, I'm a little confused since I'm a beginner in this hobby. I just want a air rifle that feels like a real gun. Perhaps Co2 gives a real-rifle-feeling? Not sure though....
Regards,
TheLoneWolf

Hello and welcome!

I am also very new in AR scene. Like you, I was also confused about the type of AR to get as the first time user.
And, I had the same experience with the PyramydAir website.

I reasoned that a springer would prove to be a good starter AR to learn the basics because they are cheaper, easily serviceable, and since they are said to produce more vibrations; they will help lay a stronger foundation.

Precihole AR’s get a lot of recommendations from the experienced shooters here. So, they must be the deal.
But, I went ahead and bought myself a SDB Artemis. I also have a running thread on it.

I tend to go with my heart, and; a newcomer’s heart usually gets set on something pretty and reputedly powerful.

Cheers!

Precihole is a fine airrifle. I had no experience with other Indian made air rifle. My precihole not even once made me to think of other guns, in it's price range. So I can vouch for precihole.

Also pellets play an equal roll in accuracy. You need to find the right pellet for the gun.

Normal airrifle for beginners.......I think precihole is fine air rifle for beginners but everybody will not able to begin with this bcoz of its price. So under 4k there is many Indian airrifle which are better for beginners.IHP national 35/25(now not available),SDB(which are under5k),AKagni,New Diana 35.....etc many lower budget rifle .I think it will help the beginners for this hobby. After this beginners should go with other special one.Accuracy is always come with practice... practice.. practice.Without practice costly rifle will be worthless.

Hi there. It's been a couple of years since I got into target shooting, which has been my childhood dream. Before I got my rifle, I did a lot of research, and compared almost every brand available in the Indian market, within my limited budget.

Springers: (Spring powered Rifles)
Springers are the most preferred entry level rifles. They are also available at affordable price ranges. IHP, Diana, AARMR, SDB and Precihole are the popular brands that offer Springers.

Precihole VX100 Spartan:
A very decent Air Rifle, at a little under 7K. Basic and simple in design and handling. Comes with a safety trigger, front sights and rear sights. There is a considerable recoil because of the action, but this is much better than other rifles. The accuracy is great for a rifle in this segment. The Stock is ergonomic, and is suitable for both left handed and right handed shooters. The grip and the cheekpad are also perfect. The barrel comes with a 11mm rail, for scopes. The effective range is at par with rifles at a much higher price range. The simple design also allows room for modifications/ customization (let's say you need to change the spring for a slightly higher power output, down the lane), the rifle is a great one for learning the mechanism as well as target shooting. Though I'd suggest not to go down on the rifle with screwdrivers and pliers within the first few months of purchaser. Overall, the VX100 is a good bargain for the price. Top features: Look and feel (looks like a variation of the legendary M24, with the black stock and barrel), Accuracy, Simplicity.

Precihole NX100 Polaris:
The fairer cousin of the Spartan, Polaris is equipped with a Nitro-piston, as opposed to the spring piston. This reduces the recoil to a large extend. The cocking effort is reduced too, with a slightly higher output power. Everything else is the same.

Feel free to ask questions about the Polaris and the Spartan.

So, if you're looking for a cheaper option, IHP, SDB and AK are available.

Happy Shooting!

Hello everyone.
I am a newbie to this forum and airguns. I too am looking to buy a new air gun. But instead of starting a new thread, thought I'd continue here. Hope its not against the rules.
My query is there any online dealer who is reliable to purchase air rifles from ? I tried my local armory and they did not have anything remotely worth considering. So I did a bit of googling and got names like kovibazar.com, https://www.airsoftgunindia.com, https://www.pelletshoppee.com/ and https://www.onlineairgun.com. Being a newbie I do not know who is reliable and who is not. So may i request to know the names of a couple or a few reliable online air gun traders who won't take me for a ride?
My basic interest lies in purchasing Aarmr Hurricane or Precihole NX 100. Any recommendations on this ?
Thanks in advance.

Hi codetracker!

I would recommend kovibazaar.com . Have purchased air rifles and accessories from them. Well packed shipments and delivery on time. Just call them to confirm the availability of the required model, though they keep website updated. Hope this helps. Happy and safe shooting!
