How to import a Blank firing weapon
Dear Members,
I'm trying to get a blank fire gun, but I have no clue how to get one, there seems to have problem importing such weapon but no one is able to give right direction, I think many of us need clear picture on this, can someone clear the doubts please.
Also Advise if these guns are Available in india (If Yes Then Where?")
Regards,
Bharat

Re: How to import a Blank firing weapon
Blank guns are on restricted list of import policy. Therefore avoid importing them.
What use are you planning to put the blank guns for? For bluffing your way out when confronted by some criminals? If yes then please forget this idea as it can lead to some very undesirable consequences.

Re: How to import a Blank firing weapon
From what I understand these fall under Chapter 93.03.1000 of the Import Tariff Act: Other firearms and similar devices which operate by the firing of an explosive charge (for example,Muzzle-loading firearms)
Which Classifies these as 'free' and states
Import subject to the condition that the requirements specified in the MHA Notification no. S.O. 667(E) dated 12.09.1985 and notification No. S.O. 831(E) dated 02.08.2002 are fulfilled and also that the Purchaser/User of these items shall obtain requisite user license from the competent authority under the provisions of the existing arms Act. 1959 (93031000, 93052100, 93052900, 93070000)
Source: http://164.100.9.245/exim/2000/NOT/itc(hs)/ch93.pdf
I've been unable to find SO 831(E) online (Can someone find these?), 667 can be viewed here-> http://indiansforguns.com/viewtopic.php ... =30#p96388 (Thanks Abhijeet!)
I'm sending the following questions to the PIO Customs, New Delhi
1. What are the procedures that need to be followed for importing Starter Pistols to India?
2. What are the procedures that need to be followed for importing Starter Pistol Ammunition to India?
3. Please provide a certified copy of rules and regulations governing the import of Starter Pistols (Blank firing) and their ammunition.
4. Please specify if a “No Objection Certification” is required from the Police before clearing these guns.
PS. I'd like to clarify that I'm not planning on using one to scare a would-be attacker or brandishing one to get myself killed!

According to indian custom hs code 9303 you can import blank firing gun and blank firing ammo. But I don't know about bank wire transfer.

nitindheer,
Are you sure about Blank Ammo. Coz as per my research anny kind of ammo import is restricted.
Have you imported any of this earlier?
