What is the best Indian made airgun in terms of muzzle velocity and accuracy?

Re: Indian made airgun
IHP and Precihole are the two best brands for springers. The forum also has good reviews of SDB air rifles and a few other brands. Cant tell about Indian air rifles that are not springers. But if you choose the wrong pellets nothing will shoot straight.

Re: Indian made airgun
In addition to the above point I would like to make my point, I had a AK AGNI air rifle model 500 .22 cal, and also some IHP air rifles 35 and 25. with a good spring and a fiber washer, I am sure that it will out perform IHP. Will add pictures soon

There are quite a few air rifles in the market.
Precihole has an advantage of modern trigger
mechanism over others.
In that segment you get only SDB 2000 ,which has Díana type ball bearing trigger.
Next come Cannon 65/35.They both are class AR.Avaiĺable in .177 and .22.
Tommy 65 comes with adjustable trigger, same like Cannon.
Then come IHP ,SDB 45,AK AGNI , AIMCO Daws and quite a few others who have traditional direct trigger for which they continue to struggle for higher status, even though they have quite excellent products.
Buyer has to decide wheather to go for target shooting or plinking.
To my mind all Indian AR require serious tuning to get maximum out of it except those guns come tuned from factory.

Re: Indian made airgun
Frankly all Indian Made ARs suffer from the following...
1. Low quality engineering hence poor tolerences leading to vibration = Poor accuracy
2. Pathetic Rear Sights - Screws for windage & elevation don't function.
3. Low resilience of springs - Loses fps in course of time.
4. Eccentric piston rods - resulting in producing twang & friction.
5. Piston seals & adaptors of low quality = loss in compression.
6. Ill matched locking of barrel with receiver = Barrel droop.
7. Breech seals of poor quality = power loss.
8. Bad design of stocks resulting in varying 'length of pull'.
However its a small comfort that many imported ARs too require 'Tuning" otherwise how would the Maccaris, Venoms etc exist
Nevertheless its reassuring that ARs like Orion / Pegasus & SDBs are overcoming the initial glitches
The more demanding the shooters are the better will be the output from manufacturers in the days to come... the change is welcome
The next step should be the Quality of Pellets - Its time the manufacturers WOKE UP

There is nothing like a right pellet for ARs - Depends on what's your end userookie wrote: Thanks all for the comments. Can you suggest the right pellets for Precihole Orion.
However you can try Mastershot Roundheads for plinking & Wadcutters for Target practice - both work well for me in my Orion.
If you can afford imported pellets then go for RWS or H&N they are excellent & consistent in their performance. I sometimes use RWS

Re: Indian made airgun
I tend to get very consistent results with GSmith Round head, and since I happened to discover that soon and have faced no pellet availability problem for GSmith I have not really tried with too many other brands. Mastershot Wadcutters work well too. But you will have to experiment and reach a satisfactory combination of accuracy and local availability. Among lighter pellets I have tried Marshal shot Flat head and AIMCO rounds are good.rookie wrote:Thanks all for the comments. Can you suggest the right pellets for Precihole Orion.
Plinking is like eating salted peanuts over a drink. You will keep on picking up a few and shooting them where they need to go, and before you know it you are half box down but feeling good.
