Re: query regarding precihole sports air rifle
If you mean 10mtr air rifle target shooting then go for the Precihole SX100 Club .177 model.
It is designed for club members who are into 10mtr air rifle target shooting.
Specs and other details here....

As an example of overcoming adversity, Karoly Takacs has few peers. He was part of Hungary’s world champion pistol-shooting team in 1938, when an army grenade exploded, crippling his right hand. Ten years later, having taught himself to shoot with his left, he won two gold medals in the rapid-fire class.

Precihole? LOL, dude! Are you serious about your shooting? Get it, and get beaten up by those Walthers and Morinis.

Re: query regarding precihole sports air rifle
KSRA shooting range is completely re-equipped with Precihole Pegasus 0.177s barring one or two old rifles that they have. I own an Orion and I find it powerful and accurate - although my own needs do not require the "hole in one" precision of competitive shooters. But I own three rifles and that includes an Orion and an IHP 35. Both are equally accurate. I am unable to see any difference in accuracy betwen the two.

Re: query regarding precihole sports air rifle
The most frustrating thing for a beginner is shooting and not hitting anything. Enough to put many people off. IHP or Precihole are definitely the two most accurate air rifles available in my experience and in general if you miss a target at 10 meters with these you know it's because of you and not the air rifle.
IHP is less expensive and impressive but belongs to "old guard" like Premier Padmini with no information/website etc. Precihole sports have taken a lot more trouble to make themselves visible to the modern net savvy young person. Connoisseurs on the forum have objected to Precihole rifles synthetic stock but if you show a Precihole rifle to an "aam aadmi" who has little exposure to any weapons he will usually say "Wow!". Only connoisseurs and old hands look at things like quality of wood finish and bluing of metal. Most people do not even look at presence or absence of rifling, trigger quality or what sort of sights are there. Bandook is bandook for most people and too many Indian air rifle (and pellet making) companies in India have taken full advantage of this national ignorance.

yes you are right ,but 1 learns form experiance ,and these are the only best rifles available in india (IHP or Precihole) and are affordable also once a person starts with these air rifles he gains more information about his AR and also others, which are used by another shooters

Re: query regarding precihole sports air rifle
Mrast, are you going for competitive shooting? If so, then 0.22 is out for you. 0.177 is the way to go.
Range for competitive shooting is mostly 10 m, anyway, so range is not a differentiating factor.
You mention you are new to the sport. So, better to go for a reasonably good, reasonably cheap gun, rather than spend huge amounts of cash on a top-of-the-line tool. Say, after spending 4-5 months, you feel that you are not cut out for competitive shooting (it can happen, I once thought I would take up gardening!! ), then you don't have to write a "for sale" post on this site!! Of course, I don't have any idea of your financial capabilities, and intend no offense on that count.......
Taking this into account, Precihole Pegasus / Club or IHP 0.177 would fit the bill. And if you find you enjoy the sport and would like to do better, then of course the sky is the limit. If you are looking for the qualities Bennedose mentions, like wood quality and finish of the bluing, you need to spend a lot more. Better if you get an antique AR, British or German. They don't make 'em like that anymore!
Disclaimer: Personally, I have a Precihole Orion in 0.22. I shoot targets at home. Never been inside a club. Never want to take part in competitions. IMHO, life is anyway quite competitive, as it is!!

Re: query regarding precihole sports air rifle
Thanx a lot essdee1972, brihacharan, target & bennedose your reply is very informative for me n encouraging. I too feel that as beginner one shud not spend too much money on the high end tools.
first learn about the sport & as the skills develops go for more better or advance options. shooting as hobby & shooting as a sport are two different things.
as a beginner it is very difficult to decide that in which gun one shud invest because of lack of knowledge & less availability of the info regarding guns.
But thanx to u people & this site for providing me such a great information about guns thanx a lot..Gud Work
I have made my mind for Precihole SX100 Pegasus 0.177"... I think that will be good as a beginner....

You seem to have already made up your mind for PH - then go for it. I own a PH Pegasus and also IHP N25. I would vote for PH Pegasus anytime in terms of accuracy and sheer joy of shooting. Don't let the "plastic" stock of PH put you off. It's not plain plastic that's used in patio chairs or furniture. It's composition and quality has been discussed on other thread, so won't repeat it here. Now lots of international arms manufacturers are substituting "plastic" stock for wood even in .22LRs - take a look at wal-mart site.
Remember that it's a ENTRY-level product. So don't compare it with top of the line products. Now in days of Ambassadors and Padminis, Maruti was definitely better than either, but you would *not* compare it with Porsche, right ?
Finally, what do you aspire to use it for ? PLINKING ? COMPETING ? These are two different activities and hence merit different approach of looking at AR need. PH Pegasus is good for plinking and joyful shooting at the clubs/ ranges. You can also use it for competitions - OPEN SITE category, which is now removed from any National/ State tournament. You need PEEP sight for any competition, assuming you are an ADULT. PH Club that has slightly less power will also fulfill your competitive needs, provided you fix peep sights to it. But then, if you are going to use it for competitions in *near* future you would do well consider a PCP option, from say IHP. It will be lot expensive than the PH but much cheaper than foreign brands and will suit you. However, if you desire to hone your shooting skills before entering competitions and that target is in *distant* future then go for PH product. AS HAS BEEN POINTED OUT, in case you wish to use the AR in club/ range then .22 cal is "no-no". All "air" events are 10m.
Adhere to safety rules. Wish you happy and safe shooting. Good luck.
