BEWARE ALL WHO INTEND TO IMPORT AIRGUN

Today i got hold of a new Notification issued by DGFT in feb 2012.

This notification is latest on airguns.

here they dont mention anything about airguns of any bore, citing this the Customs are not allowing any imports.

I have to send my airgun back.

Whoever has ordered air guns have been receiving them without any issue, yet we come across some posts that according to new notifications its banned and its not allowed.
i ordered one recently and i got it without any issue.

Today i got hold of a new Notification issued by DGFT in feb 2012.

Before reaching a conclusion, have you read the notification completely and understood it? Have you read the point number 5 "The effect of this Notification" in the notification? These are just amendments to existing import policy so that renowned shooters/rifle clubs can import firearms for their own use. Besides this what other changes it is talking about? Rest of the things are as they were. Where in this notification it is saying that you cannot bring in air rifle with your personal baggage? Where it is saying it is "banned"? This notification is not connected with baggage rules. Show me the baggage rules that say air rifle for your personal use with your personal baggage is banned?

Look if you are not interested to apply your mind to fight back and are going to take the nonsense of customs then surely you will have to send the air rifle back.
