A sentimental read on airguns

Post by fantumfan2003 » Mon Feb 28, 2011 5:34 pm

As an example of overcoming adversity, Karoly Takacs has few peers. He was part of Hungary’s world champion pistol-shooting team in 1938, when an army grenade exploded, crippling his right hand. Ten years later, having taught himself to shoot with his left, he won two gold medals in the rapid-fire class.

fantumfan,

A really beautiful read. I recall what PKJ (Jeetesh) once said to Luck Luke and me after an evening of shooting in his garden range set up. PCP's are not much fun to shoot. The pellet just goes where you want it to go. The good old springer requires much more concentration, grip...the recoil is something you have to mentally calculate.
I fully agree with Ron (author of the post) and you on the unnecessary desire for power.
And for those who still have a doubt on the old fashioned springers vs the PCP,.......i prefer kebabs roasted over coal the old way rather than done in an modern oven :D
