Best air rifle for a beginner...
hi everyone
i recently purchased a walther cp88 pistol(.177,blued metal) .Our fellow IFGian john and Mr. Ashar Raoof helped me in choosing .till now it was smooth and the shot was accurate.Happy to have it . So now decided to go for an air rifle.ufff but its very tough for me to decide which one to purchase .i had a glance at diana ,m200,m300 5.5mm from air rifles and at the ihp models on the web.For me all the rifles looked the same i read the reviews and few threads in the forum but i'm unable to come to a conclusion.i dont have enough knowledge to choose a good one at rifles. My purpose is the pinkling and pest killing. I hope you all can help me in narrowing them and help me choose a better one
thanks in advance,
tony

Re: which air rifle should i choose? i'm confused
Best bet, IHP. Start with an IHP, improve and then decide if you want to go for a costlier one.

Jeff Cooper advocated four basic rules of gun safety:
1) All guns are always loaded. Even if they are not, treat them as if they are.
2) Never let the muzzle cover anything you are not willing to destroy.
3) Keep your finger off the trigger till your sights are on the target.
4) Identify your target, and what is behind it.

Many Congrats on the Walther. Please post some pictures too.
Is it a 4" or 6" CP88 barrel?
IHP 35 .22 calibre is good to begin with, IMHO.

i prefer Mastershot coz they are perfect fit for IHPs, Go for wad cutter aka flatheads for practice, or round head for performance and range. u can also choose from Gsmith pellets. master shot costed me 200bucks for a tin of 500pellets from bandhuk bhandar, indore.tonysilas wrote:which pellets are best for the IHP 35 .22 rifle? how much do they cost?

here i mean removing the stock and replacing it with a new one. not polishing or make over to the existing stock...

Re: Best air rifle for a beginner...
yes, you can change an IHP stock to one that is customised.
but why do you want to do so? is your stock not fitting you properly? have you started shooting with it and found problems?
if it's only cosmetic, why go through the hassle of organising good wood and then locating a good stockmaker?
