It is interesting to note that the total since 1998 is 110,017,832.

Great, isn't it. I bought 3 in 2009. A .380 pistol, a 30-06 bolt action rifle, and a short pistol-grip 20g shotgun for home defense.
I shoot at least 200 rds. of various caliber a week, so I'm doing my part to keep those ammo sales numbers up.
I hope to buy at least 3 more guns in 2010. A 1911, a lever action rifle, and SA revolver.

what a shame for india -here we only waste time in importing piddly air guns inspite of being a supernation with one of the worlds largest armed forces and see old guns changing hands at exorbitant prices which may even shock the original manufacturer and maybe even Sothebys, a real bloody sad show

If you go by what the anti-gun lobby has to say, there should be a bloodbath in USA. Instead, crime records seem to suggest a record drop in the number of murders.
