Warm greetings to all, First things first I am a practicing advocate in Amritsar, Punjab and have to travel in and out of my district due to handling of cases mostly criminal in Punjab and Haryana High Court at Chandigarh. I need to apply for an arms license for my personal safety due to the hectic job profile which involves in and out travelling at odd hours too. When I inquired about acquiring arms license at district authorities, got redirected to Police commissionrate Amritsar instead of the DM office/DC office. Need help regarding the due procedure to acquire one NPB handgun license in Amritsar, Punjab Urban. Kindly assist. Regards

Arms license will be issued by Commissioner of Police, Amritsar.
Three things are needed to get an arms license
1. Approach
2. Approach
3. Approach

General procedure is that first you will have to get an application signed by Commissioner to buy the arms file. Then buy the file, get training certificate, get police report done and then back to commissioner for issue of the license.

Initially your license will be issued only for Punjab and you will not be able to carry your weapon in Chandigarh. To carry in Chandigarh, you will need to get valid area in your license extended.

First procedure is to get the file.

Can we get it without reference? if not, to whom i need to provide reference (shfaarish)?
if i can have officers contact name or number who issue the file that would be great.
