THE Vasai Manikpur Police have recovered four hi-tech imported guns, which were hidden under ground under the bridge near Sham Shan Ghat, Vasai east. The cops were informed of the guns during a cleaning operation by the employees of Navghar Manikpur Nagar Parisad Employees. According to police officials, the guns cost around Rs 4.5 lakh.

Senior Inspector, P Mandre of Vasai Manikpur Police Station told Sunday MiD-DAY "One of these guns have a mark which confirms that it belongs to the US army while the others are only used by Black Cat Commandos & officers of Special Security Group."

He also confirmed of terrorist activity could be a motive behind such weapons being used. "No ordinary criminal or local goon would use such weapons. The Anti Terrorist Squad in Mumbai is also trying to find some links behind this seizure and we hope to be successful."

The cops also suspect that these weapons had been hidden about four months back since they were in excellent condition and could be used immediately.

Aaah pure CC bait!...I've bitten!

Either the cops concerned have never come across a 1911 or they are just trying to inflate the importance of their find... almost all 1911A1s in India and anywhere else are marked US Army and US Government Property...why should that surprise anyone? What next? Claim that it is absolute proof that the US government is actively supporting the terrorists and the mafia?

Hi-Tech? .... :) the only thing vaguely approximating that in terms of age would be the Glock.

Anyway closest to farthest:

Czech Vz61 Škorpion
Colts M1911A1
Glock19(Probably)
Strum Ruger Service Six

To me it looks like all are pilfered stuff from government inventory.... too much of a coincidence that all these to come together in one place by crooked means.

I suggest they look for hardware leaks in the government machinery first... instead of looking elsewhere :)
