As for being non lethal (all the time), I'm not sure I agree to that. Nonetheless a good read.

That one is, by far, the most comprehensive article that I have seen so far on the Israeli use of the 10/22
As I had heard, they changed the rules of engagement as the rifles turned out to be quite a bit more lethal than they expected.
I covered a little bit of the topic in
my review of the 10/22. In that post, you can see my daughter shooting an integrally suppressed 10/22 with a synthetic stock and a 50 round magazine.

There are several US manufacturers who make integrally suppressed 10/22 barrels:
Yankee Hill Machine
Gemtech MIST 22
Dakota Silencer (mouse fart quiet is what they claim. )
As an interesting aside: Ruger recently
announced integrally suppressed 10/22 barrels available for their take down units.
