James Bond's Guns...

I found this site today and thought it might be of interest to some. The site not only takes movies into account, but also the books. Since I've only read 3 Bond novels (Goldfinger, Thunderball, and The Man with the Golden Gun -- I know I appear boorish by confessing that I very very seldom read novels, but when I put the time into reading, I prefer history -- that is, real history with footnotes, references, and a comprehensive bibliography), this gave me some insight into the discussion of novels.

James Bond Guns

Since I was not familiar with the Beretta in .25 ACP business, other than the brief intro part of the Dr. No movie, this helped me understand that part of the Bond saga.

Also, I enjoyed the author's mentioning the Armalite AR-7 and its being chambered specially in .25 ACP for Bond. His understanding of long barrel performance of .25 ACP vs .22 LR was what I would expect a knowledgable person to observe.

Walther PPK 7.65mm with a delivery like a brick through a plate glass window
What utter rot. :)

Now the ASP with its guttersnipe sights would have been a good self defense weapon. ASP's are very hard to come by nowadays and consequently are very expensive.

Good find, Tim.

I can`t find the reference to the .25 acp AR-7 but conversion to .25acp would be a pointless exercise anyway as the .25 ACP is a pipsqueak. With the appropriate load it might generate as much energy as a CCI stinger ..... but no version of the AR-7 has been suitable for use with hypervelocity ammo so that`s not possible. A .22 LR rifle can`t just be rechambered to .25 ACP anyway - it would need rebarrelling.
