Shooting in Pattaya (Bangkok), Thailand

Post by Olly » Wed Jul 04, 2007 7:12 pm

Had a chance to visit the Pattaya Shooting Range in the basement of the Tiffany's Show building in Pattaya, Thailand. They had a great collection of guns to shoot from...right from .22 to .48s. I chose a 9mm Glock Pistol, although was tempted to shoot the Colt .45 (especially after seeing Abhijeet's .45). Shot about 20 rounds. The experience was exhilarating !! I have no idea where the first 2 or 3 shots went, as it was a long time since I last fired a pistol... but then I had a neat spread !!!
Here are some pictures....

Yes, I can't express my excitement at the choice of so many guns... its the dough that matters....

Anyone can shoot at the range. They just need to see your Passport. Besides at the range, shooting is possible at a place near Coral Island, Pattaya where even SLRs can be fired. Being alone and with my wife and kids along, I didn't care much for that... However, at Tiffany's, there was no problem. The family sat comfortably with the sound dampners on their heads and watched guys shooting, in amazement....

Cost was 610 Baht (1 Thai Baht = approx. Rs. 1.25) for the range, Glock and 10 rounds of 9mm. Each round is about 15 Bahts... and there is no limit. The .22 round is only 7 Bahts each while the .45 round is 25 Bahts. The cost also includes the target, which they give you at the end....

Anupam-
Well, another one exposed to P bore shooting.
Good shot sir and go for it! Please do try the 45 too.you are big enough to take the recoil of a 454 casull, so a 45 will be great fun to shoot.
Next time, pics thru photobucket?

Sanjay,
Ya... it was greeeeaaat fun... Ofcourse, besides shooting and massaging in 'Thighland', there is lots for kids in Safari World, Underwater world....
Tatuchak Market is one place where one can pick up all US Army stuff like bayonets, knives, gas masks, holsters, pouches, army goggles etc. etc. I picked up a ugly looking but quite thoughtfully designed knife... will post the pics soon (Doc permitting... yet to try the photobucket stuff ! )

Asif,
Birthday wishes to you ! I promise to go for the .45 and the rifles next time... I am confident now... the kick of the Glock was somewhat less than my IOF .32 (or does it feel that way ?). By the way, it did jam twice !!
