Been a while since your post...yes thanks to Obama gun manufacturers had a bumper xmas and year...they cant make these fast enough. Some of the AR 15 style guns are made in Albany NY. State with high rate of unemployment but Governor just passed a rule against assault guns basically putting this firm out of business right on his door step..

Very interesting article. I was reading a few US based forums and it seems like most places have run out of ammo as well, i believe people were cribbing about unable to stock up on 9mm and .22lr!

Ammo has been unavailable for quite a while now. 9mm and .40 S&W have been the first casualties. .22 LR has disappeared from the market. Remember that video I posted a while back about the CCI factory? What was it? Something like 4 million rounds per day just from that one factory. It is being sold the moment it hits the shelves. Even the expensive stuff is unavailable. Last week I went into the local Gander Mountain. They had got a pallet load of .22 LR that day. The doors opened at 9:00 am. I was there at 11:45 am and some kid was walking out with the last five boxes of .22 LR ammo.

Reloading supplies have dried up too. I haven't seen any 9mm or 40 S&W bullets (not even the plain cast lead bullets) for a while. I also haven't seen any primers for quite some time now. Powder is still available for now.
I think people are stockpiling ammo like crazy. I was in Cabelas this weekend and the ammo shelves were just bare. Only some oddball caliber were available. Rifle and Shotgun ammo is still available except for .223, .308 and 7.62 X 39.

I cant have more than 200 bullets legally guess should hang on to my CCI few odd bullets and yes around xmas at Cabela in CT shelves were pretty empty maybe Dicks etc in NJ might have some ammo due to laws and less number of gun owners...

Same here, too. Just dropped by the local Sportsman's Warehouse for a can powder. Ammo, primer, powder shelves are bare, except for shot shells. A few boxes rifle cartridges in the more exotic and expensive calibers. There was one can of shot shell powder, and two boxes of shot shell primers. Any .22 RF that comes is now behind the counter, one box per customer. Worse than four years ago. From the wholesale distributors everything is allocated, but for one or two manufacturers. And I have never seen half as many customers in that store any time, not even before Xmas.

My Wife tells me that Cabelas in Texas is sold out of ammo. She did not go into the gun section, however, and I cannot believe that the rare calibers are.

I haven't even been inside a Dick's in New Jersey. Just mentioning the "g-word" in this state seems to incite a lot of suspicion, as if people would want to tar and feather me before running me out of town.

This would be a good time to manufacture ammo!
