Let's start an online Campaign

The gun Laws in India are really trash and I believe in the wake of the increasing number of crimes in the country,we need a change in these Laws.
Now,we definitely don't want Laws like USA,where civilians are welcome to own guns which can spit out 60 rounds in a minute.
But some change is definitely needed.
So ,why don't we start a campaign in Facebook and Twitter.We can post all our recommendations and suggestions there.We can also suggest some sensible and logical changes to the Arms Act.
We can add the pages of all the leading newspapers of the country so that they can see the posts we make in our Campaign Page in Facebbok as well as in Twitter.
The more experienced Shooters ,both men and women,should come forward for doing this.
We can also send emails or land-posts to the PMO(Prime Minister's Office),President,Lok Sabha,Rajya Sabha along with our suggestions and signatures of all of us in papers stapled together.

Here are my suggestions:
1.>Calibres upto 8mm should be allowed .
2.>Maximum Clip-capacity of Magazines of Pistols should be made 10,for Rifles 6 and shotguns 4.
3.>The ridiculous pricing of guns should be scrapped.
4.>Sport Rifles like the .22 Rifle,.315 Rifle and 30-06 Rifle from the IOF should be made semi-automatic instead of being Breech-loading.
5.>Shotguns should be manual loading ones. Or the loading mechanism may be put just below the barrel,like we see in movies.So that the loading can be done with the free hand.
6.>Importing of Air-Guns as well as firearms which are in accordance with the above rules should be allowed.

I appreciate your idea. Similar ideas have already been discussed in this forum. I would request you to at least spend a few days searching this forum and understanding the matters in detail.

There are no restrictions beyond 8 mm. From where did you get this idea that calibres beyond 8 mm are restricted?

There is no maximum clip capacity. The bureaucrats who drafted Arms Act and its Rules were clever and cunning enough to impose annual quota of cartridges. Even if you have a drum magazine with capacity of 100 rounds, what will you do with annual quota of 5 cartridges? Instead there should be no cartridge quota.

The ridiculous pricing of guns should be scrapped.

Remove the monopoly of IOF and import restrictions, market forces will automatically decide the prices.

You are referring to this http://ofb.gov.in/products/data/weapons/wsc/6.htm Pump action shotguns are already manufactured by IOF but they are not sold to civilians because of some letter sent to IOF by Ministry of Home Affairs, New Delhi.

Yes. Arms Act 1959 already allows it but DGFT is not respecting Arms Act 1959. Read Section 10(1)(a) of Arms Act 1959.

I wonder why don't anybody challenged the policy of DGFT in court till this date?.The current policy will remain so in future and import of arms and ammunition is only possible for renowned shooters.Normally government will not open the import channel freely for normal civilians when anti-gun policy is even trying to put airguns in the section of firearms .

Yes,I know there are many posts on this topic here in this site.But I don't think any big action has yet been taken.
We need to really mobilize all the shooters in India,including women(which will add to our voice immensely),and put up an online campaign.
We should mail to all the newspapers about our agenda and also the concerned authority like PMO,Lok Sabha,Supreme Court etc.
We can lodge a complaint in the Supreme Court too in behalf of all the shooters here.
We can collect the necessary funds from this site through PayPal or GoogleWallet and the Shooters of this site who stay in Delhi can go on with the trial.We will each contribute to the costs.

I believe we will succeed in this endeavour if we take the above steps.
I don't think anything this big has been ever done before.And just posting in this site is not going to work.
Moreover you say that the government has stopped civilians from buying the "12 Bore Pump Action Gun".I visited the link to it that you have provided.But strangely enough I cannot view this link if I go to the www.ofb.gov.in site and search the heading "Civilian Arms and Ammunition".The last and most recent gun displayed there is the "30-06 Sporting Rifle".
Do you have any idea when we can get that gun?If you get any information on it then will you please PM me that info?

I do not know what you mean by "big" but certainly efforts have been made and are been made by many people. It is a constant fight. Yes more and more people need to join this movement and contribute to its success. If you refer the following threads you will get an idea of what has been done till now:

Government wanted to amend the Arms Act 1959 and make it even more draconian. Thousands of members from this website wrote their objections to Ministry of Home Affairs and stalled that Amendment proposal. You can read this thread http://indiansforguns.com/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=7913

Still government did not give up its mischievous tricks, it tried to legalize the same materiel by pushing a policy and getting that policy indirectly legalized by a small but extremely clever amendment to arms act. A group of volunteers was formed under the banner of NAGRI to fight this. They met the Prime Minister and also contacted MPs all over the country including personally meeting many of them. Many members of this forum also independently contacted the MPs or wrote to them to oppose the matter in Parliament. Till this day that clever and draconian amendment is stalled. This idea is already there but the matter has to be taken up in a proper and mature manner. Arms are not only matter right of shooters but also a matter of Fundamental Right of all citizens. There have been number of High Court judgments that arms are part of Fundamental Right under Article 21. Besides Article 21, arms are acknowledged by Article 19 as Fundamental Right, they are also Constitutional Right under Article 300A.

Don't click on "Civilian Arms and Ammunition". Click on "Weapons", under "Small Calibre" you will find 12 Bore Pump Action Gun.

Before MHA sent that letter to IOF some pump actions were sold in the market. Sometimes those people want to sell them, one can buy them. Some old foreign made pump actions are also sometimes for sale.

So,we need to do something about this too if the government delays too much.

Jayanta Mukherjee(a member on this website) probably has done RTI with IOF regarding this matter related to IOF pump action. Maybe he will take up the matter in High Court after getting RTI reply as this matter is violation of Article 19 of the Constitution.
