Celebratory firing

I read the new that our new president is welcomed by 21 tank celebratory shots in “Sansad Bhawan” campus after the oath ceremony.
While reading this news I was also thinking. Is Celebratory firing, a culture or a trend that people are obsessed?
Ya! We all know it is irresponsible act to fire sky wards as part of celebratory shooting. But at the same time we also see this as culture in India. Be it the old Rajas or our recent president, all of them feel pride about “ 21 toop ki salami” 21 tank rounds shot in air. Be it 15th Aug 26th Jan, several rifle and tank rounds are shots in air. If any one form police or arm forces die then also rifle rounds are shot in air, and considered as symbol of honour and respect.
But when it come to common man celebratory firing is all no no..
I can bet most of us who own a firearm in India must have taken their first shot as sky wards. Reasons may be many, lack of facility, first experience with friends or relative guns etc..
I definitely don’t want to be judgemental here from anyone comment, but would like to hear from fellow members, how they feel about the same.
