Over a period of time I have noticed that there are several IFG members in Dubai.

I wanted to put forward the idea of starting a Dubai Chapter.

All IFG Members based in Dubai, if you could PM me we could look at setting up a first meeting.

I look forward to hearing from you all.

(Mod's is this the best way to start a chapter? are there any other procedures we should follow? Let us know if required)

I am not trying to discourage the idea but would like to mention that IFG is just a website and not an organization. Wouldn't it be better if chapters of NAGRI are started instead and IFG is used as a common online meeting place?

I fully support NAGRI, however as EXPATS, the IFG chapter is more of way of meeting like minded people in a foreign land.

Great idea pistolero,

I only wish we had thought of it when I was in the UAE from 1995-2011; I would have loved it, if it was a regular get together for people with similar interests - in this case guns. It is not really important under what banner it was /is conducted as long as it all above board, legal!

Not trying to hijack the topic but was curious, what are the rules pertaining to firearms in Dubai? Especially when no foreign national can became a citizen there?

Only UAE Nationals are allowed to allowed to own fire-arms; expatriates can only own certain air weapons like rifles and some hand guns; replica air, hand guns are banned.

What? So does that mean foreign nationals does not have right to self defense? Thats BS man, I would leave the country.
