Emily gets her gun

Post by xl_target » Wed Dec 28, 2011 1:12 pm

Many comments have been made, on this forum, about how easy it is to get a gun in the US. However, there are still a few bastions of the anti-gun, where it is very difficult to procure and own a gun. One of them is Washington DC, which is a very unsafe place. Even though the United States Supreme Court has clearly upheld the right to keep and bear arms for a citizen of the United States, DC's bureaucrats have thrown up every obstacle that they can think of to prevent that from happening.

Emily Miller, a senior editor at The Washington Post has chronicled her story about trying to buy and own a gun in the nations capital. Follow her through her journey as she attempts to get a gun to defend her home. You will see that there are "Babu's" everywhere.

As far as I know, she still hasn't got a gun but is closer to getting one.

> Hats off to Emily Miller - May her tribe increase! :D
> To all those "Babus" who cry 'anti-gun' here's what could be done "Dispense with their body gaurds" - No security coverage for them... let's see their reaction!
> If they think their lives are more precious than the Tax Payer's who pays for their up-keep - THEY ARE WOEFULLY WRONG.
> They are those who 'stride with pride' when surrounded by gun toting commandos - imagine them raising a hue & cry when some of their security was downgraded from "Z" to whatever category below that.

We should also have a Emily.. But the problem with us is that the general don't think of the Gun as a necessity..
"The laws that forbid the carrying of arms .... disarm only
those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes....."
- Thomas Jefferson

Strong people are harder to kill than weak people, and more useful in general.
