Please note that 4 seconds elapsed between the hangfire and the discharge.
Discharges of upto more than 30 seconds later have been recorded.
After the hangfire, just "not looking into the muzzle" isnt good enough.

The gun has to be kept facing the target or similar safe direction. Esp in the case of rifles. DO NOT EJECT THE ROUND.
to be on the safe side, wait a full minute or better still, 2 minutes (recommended time in rifle course).
Recently a member asked what to do as he had a hangfire problem with his pistol. and everybody suggested checking this or that. some other guy might read that and do these checks after a single hangfire.
DO NOT CHECK ANYTHING for a full 2 minutes.
this guy might not be stupid. maybe he wasnt taught what to do. This is more evident by the way he is shooting.
