could you please get one for me under 1lac. of course you forgot to add that parking at the local mall would not be a problem
Yo Naga!
All you gotta do, is wait for the next 20 years, they will eventually be phased out, then you can request one for from the army. Regarding parking, No not a problem at all mate, you just grind aside other vehicles, if you find yourself hemmed from all foursides, just rotate the tank 360 degrees and grind aside the other tin cans and tinker off home.
i do like the thing about the wife not being heard. sounds like you have already got one. (one of each  )
Yup got me a brand new knife err, wife (first and only one) brand scorpio and you can imagine the sting! She makes excellent kebabs (Usually, I am the dead meat).
oh yes what about import licence?

Naaanh! Dont bother about all that, you can collect whatever you want from PARULIA, they airdrop stuff like that all the time.

First - I do not know the laws in India or the availability of ammunition or rifles. That said, I will give my opinion based on the conditions in the USA.

300 meter competition is a medium range so there are a myriad of calibers that are suitable and effective.

In ascending price :

5.56 NATO / .223 Remington - when shooting 62 grain or heavier bullets it is more than adequate unless there is a very stiff breeze. Use a 1-in-8" rifling twist or faster.
7.62 NATO / .308 Winchester - the king of target shooting in the USA out to 800m.
.30-06 - predecessor of the .308 and still a respectable round
.300 Win Mag - factory ammo will NOT suffice but if you reload, it is a superb long-range target round.
6.5x284 Norma - very popular 1000 yard round with less recoil than the .308, but a bit expensive.

My personal favorite ( if I was limited to a single choice ) would be the .308 - and the majority of the other competitors I know prefer it.
Most fun ( and most expensive ) to shoot - .50 BMG. Not very practical except for a few specialized matches, though.

What would be the best caliber for a 300 mts match? Please suggest? One with loads of power, flatter trajectory, affordable ammo and moderate recoil so your shoulder doesnt turn blue after 60+ shots.
Please advise.

For competition, if you're not shooting 6 NBR you're not shooting to win.

A 105 would be overkill at that range.

Would really love a .223 rifle though. Just can't get over a 22 short range or long range.

30 BR excells at shooting for score where best edge rules apply. This is typically a 100/200 yard discipline, and very different from group shooting or ISSF. The .30 BR typically will shoot a 68 grain, hand made bullet and is not an ideal caliber for 300 and beyond.

The 6 NBR etc excell at ISSF style shooting due to the availability of excellent VLD bullets from the likes of Lapua and Berger. Additionally excellent off the shelf ammo is available from Lapua and Norma. I can pretty much duplicate the performance of the Lapua factory load in the 105 Scenar variety with 30.3 grains of N-150 and a BR4 primer.

Using a .30 BR for ISSF would get you spanked quite badly.

Zak's helped me a lot with Tactical shooting. He does have a ton of experience and is a very active shooting coach/tournament organiser.
His articles on LR shooting are excellent, and help a lot of people start out. He helps a lot of people get started and de-bug their gear.
Have a lot of respect for him.
He will admit freely.. he doesnt do ISSF or BR, but for Tac LR, he is the man.
