Not exactly. This is one of the models IOF Ishapore tried to work on without much success. It is based on the same Insas platform but with a shortened and redesigned bolt and frame. The Uzi has its cocking bolt on the top and it moves to and fro along a slot cut through the top plate, making it necessary to have a huge U notch cut through the bolt handle so the user can take aim and align his front and back sights. This one on the other hands works the conventional way, bolt handle to the right - just like the Insas. The vague resemblance to Uzi is only cosmetic. Also this was in 9mm.
