Gentlemen,

I came across this interesting article about the guns that James Bond has used in his movies and novels. There are three pages of info here . There are some comments regarding certain calibers that I don't agree with , but that is my personal opinion. Oh , by the way, instead of the picture of FN 1910 , they have mistakenly used the pic of FN 1922.

good read. he he he. i read the story that the walther lp53 spring pistol seemed to look more "photogenic" than a pocket pistol, hence it's use in the bond posters!!

Like the 8 inch 44 S&W mod 29 used in certain angles in Dirty Harry? it was considered more menacing.Many a guy lost beer money over this, debating whether it was a 6 incher or an 8 they saw-both swearing on their grandmothers grave, and both right...

It was indeed Bond who influenced me into buying a Walther PPK/S and I do not regret this decision at all. I bought it in .22LR and it's been giving me immense pleasure since 1984, the year I purchased it in Singapore. It's sheer good luck for me me that this particular piece of workmanship has never failed to feed and fire with any, including IOF ammo except in case of a dud round. I have shot this pistol in both .32 and .38 caliber. The latter sure plays havoc with the thumb web after shooting a few clips.

James Bond even used a BSA Scorpion Air pistol with its 4x20 scope and removable shoulder stock. Don't know the movie, but the scene involved bond taking out a target quietly. I think the tube to aid cocking was portrayed as a supressor. Very cool all that.

Would love to lay my hands on that entire BSA kit.

The 1st scene of "Dirty Harry" The assassin shoots a female swimming in a terrace pool with a silenced rifle at 300 odd yards. Callahen (Clint) picks up a 30-06 shell from the spot later.Hollywood too has been taking people for a ride for a long time now. One often sees a silenced revolver l in those movies.
