Err...Humpy? What about reduced loads? That should stop the over penetration.

What over-penetration ?
`Humpy` as in `Thumpy` - ie, it kicks a bit.
Sorry, slang/vernacular.
The reduced load 10mm is called the .40 S&W ...............

Something else you should read if you`re at all interested in handgun ballistics .... and why the FBI dumped the 9x19 :

Ehh...10 mm fanboys keep saying 10 mm is the best thing that has happened to handguns since Browning. The high velocity leads to over penetration of walls etc.

In reality, i suppose it is neck and neck with the .45 ACP and .40 S&W ( Ballistic gel tests )

Have read both articles.I wonder if firing 38 spls instead of .357 mag was a major blunder?

The 10mm isn`t renowned for penetration.
The major problem was that although hit goodness knows how many time with a 9mm bullet the gunman kept shooting to devastating effect. You should remember that the .38 Sp, the .357 Mag and 9mm are all 9mm - the 9x19 is .355". Load a .357 mag with a light bullet and what you get is an extremely high velocity 9mm with all the penetration but lack of knock down power problems that the 9x19 has ..... but even more so . Load it with well-designed 125 gr and heavier bullets and it`s a different matter.

This was easy. I believe our friend Cottage Cheese did come across a few in the armouries.

Doesn't the 125 gr .357 mag HP have the " Manstopper " tag? That's what i would carry.

Vikram, why don't you join in? You have many things of note to say on the subject.

That`s an automatic revolver Vikram ....... We dealt with the semi-auto .455 hours ago. lol.
Revolvers are an awkward shape and uncomfortable to carry - the cylinder isn`t exactly the most convenient shape - but the .357 mag is a fine calibre and 158 gr bullets are optimum.
You are very quiet Vikram - are you working on some translations or something ?

Please, please! Let's have no bad things said about the Webley-Fosbery, that most wonderful invention!

Who`s going to say anything bad about the Webley Fosbery ? A prime example of British invention and eccentricity. I`d like to see one in action.
There is something very peculiar about Webley revolvers in that in pictures they look old fashioned and wimpy somehow.... In the flesh they`re much more impressive - especially the .455s.

Invention & eccentricity? Webley-Fosberys must be judged upon the most important criterion of all: I want one!

Yeah ..... very good. I`d completely forgotten about the Webley semi-auto pistols and there were a bunch of them. Those are model 1912s. Note the poor grip angle - there weren`t many semi-autos that got it right - the 1911 and P `08 being notable exceptions.
