As the calm descended on the city of Mumbai after the hectic 10 days of Navaratri celebrations, the Mumbai IFGians got ready for a Rendezvous to catch up on guns & blades and what have you!

“IFGian Lanceman” gracefully agreed to host the bash at his splendidly appointed residence.

The Venue: Lanceman’s House, Date: Sun 20th October 2013, Time: 11.30 onwards…..

After the traditional ‘Bear Hugs’ we settled down to guzzling the fermented barley brew and munching the savories & the succulent kebabs.

As the presiding deity waved his magical wand out came glistening blades, Bokers, Beckers, Cold Steel, Gerbers, Khuks, Bucks, Leatherman etc. all recent acquisitions by the CMGs.

Not to be outdone Pratik & Essdee brought out their DIY blades, a sight seen to be believed!!! The discussions that followed on the techniques of grinding, beveling, contouring & polishing were an induction for a freshman engineer’s delight!!!

Amongst all these hullabulla was Fantum-Fan who danced with joy displaying his new Gerber Multitool!!!

With blade Gurus Lanceman, Moin & Slingshot chipping in their ‘mantras’, Lanceman took us through the fine art of sharpening blades.

The topic for discussion later, turn to fire-arms & ARs when Lanceman brought out his “Walther” 0.22 cal pistol and his heirloom which turned out to be a Single Shot BSA in 0.22cal. The merits & de-merits of every conceivable weapon was discussed with hands on experience from Lanceman (Retd. & Decorated Brigadier of the Indian Army) and Dr. Shirsat whose wizardry with air arms is legendary.

All this exchange of knowledge & experience flying like ‘hot lead’ all around only contributed to a hunger of a different kind – FOOD!!!!

The spread was a gourmet’s delight – The typical Parsee Dhanshak along with succulent kebabs, Chicken Farcha, Patrani Machi (a delightful dish – steam cooked fish rolled in aromatic herbs & saucy chutney) followed by smooth as silk Mango & Malai Kulfi.

Stuffed & satiated to the gills, it was time to take leave of our generous & gracious host Lanceman – (May his tribe increase)

For the Mumbai IFGians – it was another day in paradise!!!!!!

Cheers

FF for Brihaji and CMG....

P.S : Pics of the meet will follow shortly....

Thank you Lanceman for such an amazing afternoon :)

And the band of IFG and the CMG continues to bubble with passion :) The food was extra special. The Patra Ni Macchi was absolutely divine and I really gorged on the Dhansak :)

Till we meet again :)

The M C M gang is having all the fun... and the best spread on the table too :D

Going by Lanceman's Walther TPH and the BSA Sportsman (or possibly the Model 3) it seems I am not the only one who trusts the .22 ROTFL

Great going guys.

Thanks for sharing

TC

PS: Its high time Moin had a shave or stopped posing with guns with that stubble

TC, you are right about .22 cal, I trust it implicitly, unless you need a .45 to stop hashasins, a .22 is as good as any...

Absolutely agree Lanceman... though I don't know how many hashasins can actually walk five paces after a .22 hollow point has smashed through his kneecap or in a worst case scenario the brain... :D people will always debate but the .22 will always reign
