I am egree with XL and AB , i think we should pitch in like $100 per person or so we all can shared the cost of food and drinks.i am in guy's.

chance to see a Cabelas, Bass Pro or other similar store is a great idea because we don't have these store here.

Gents,

In addition to Cabelas and Bass Pro (they are within minutes of each other. Ok, "several" minutes of each other) there is a Graf and Sons nearby as well:

I have just made arrangements to purchase a CVA Electra, which is a BP muzzle loader that uses an electronic ignition. I figure we can shoot it for the first time at our meet. I have been curious about this gun for a while since it seems that black powder is relatively cheap and easily obtainable in India. If we are all happy with how the gun shoots I will work on making a reproducible version that uses a 30 caliber barrel which can possibly be built legally in India, and be used economically. However, I am getting ahead of myself! Right now let's just say there will be a few guns for people to shoot during the meet!

Well looking good.

Ok , I drive, travel, hunt , camp and do most things along with my family. Most times I just haul them along with me, they like or not :) . My son shoots archery, daughter shoots gun, and my wife hunts along with me. I'm not asking any favors or asking for baby sitters, all I needs to know that is there any girls , ladies , women or female persons are coming ... ?

Other wise I will bring them and arrange my own stay and not join late night hunting conversations ..... you know how much we the hunters lie ....

They have been in too many lonely nights and in bear country too, no fear of dark.

So give out the plans, please. Then we can plan accordingly - Haji
--------------------------------------------------------------
Edit:- Thanks Mark. Nothing special ... !

I just wanted to know that the ladies are included or it's all big mouth male hunters and no listener party ....... ROTFL ROTFL

Haji,

I have 14 and 17 year old sons, and a 12 year old daughter. Your family is most welcome here. We have many places to sleep, including a somewhat dusty at the moment guest cottage. So there is plenty of room. I also have many tents ranging in size from pup tents to a 3 room. I also have a tipi, however if you choose to sleep in that I'll need to cut some poles for it.

Any questions regarding rooms you can ask here or via a PM. I too would like some females here, if for nothing else someone for my wife to talk and cook with!

Very nice...very nice conversations here - I am enjoying it all!

Cooking.....doves....living arrangement including tepees....company for the ladies....great to see lots of thoughts on various aspects going into the process of setting up an exciting meet - Wow!

I truly admire Mark's sense of style, hospitality and generosity - beautiful! :D Lovely initiative from xl_target and creative notes and contributions from all IFG' ians including Hammerhead, Baljit, Safarigent, conty1, HSharief, Vikram et al!

I am still hanging on to my pants here - so that I get a final idea as to the 'when and where' and then on wards that I can request those days off from work; but here I am, putting the cart ahead of the horse. I have to get through the US Visa Interview on the 23rd of Jul and then I can charge ahead with plans. So, fingers crossed and hoping for the best!

How about we firm up three "events",

1. a shooting event (whatever we can bring) on Saturday afternoon,
2. a dinner/cookout/campfire/shoot-the-sh1t on Saturday evening/night and
3. a fishing trip on Sunday morning till about noonish/lunch.

The other items can be like "side events", like the visit to Basspro/Cabelas/Grafs on Saturday morning and whatever else folks want to do on Sunday afternoon.

I wonder if one of us has a clay thrower, would be fun.

This schedule looks good to me, but anyone can feel free to add suggestions or requests as well. I'll count them later, but I think I have about 8-10 fishing rods for people to use.

I have one of those cheap plastic clay throwers, but let me see if I can find a better one to borrow, that should not be a problem.

I am still searching for dove hunting, but still plenty of time for that.

+1 for the dove shoot. Or any shoot.
A rough walked up shoot.
I just have to, have to, experience an authentic american wing shoot.

Excellent!!

Mark, you are still to tell us how we are splitting the costs!! Don't mean to harp on the same tone, but it is important we sort it out.

Cheers,
Amit

Don't worry about the costs, just show up with a credit card and I'll take care of the rest!

Seriously, I will need to talk to my insurance agent but I do not think I will need anything extra for that. The dove hunt would be with someone else and I would let you deal with them direct, or at least find out the pricing for you. Other than food, the only other item I can think of is renting a porta-potty, but let me work on that too.

As I have mentioned, I am not doing this for the purpose of making a profit but to provide a memorable environment for all IFGians to meet and do things we enjoy. Our school/Institute here is a 501c3 not for profit and if someone wished to make a donation to the program we could possibly discuss that but otherwise we really only need to talk about food. And tea, some nice tea would be a change from what I get locally.

OH, speaking of tea- we can make some sassafras tea for everyone to try, you dig up the roots of the sassafras tree. I can also make some traditional sasparilla, which is what root beer originally was. I can show everyone how it is made, but it takes a couple days to ferment/naturally carbonate properly so I'll make some beforehand.

We can start a food thread later as my wife is excellent at accommodating for different diets, whether it is a particular meat or strict vegetarian. My only comment is that I am hoping we can have somewhat of a communal meal preparation for anyone who is interested, so if you have a favorite family recipe please consider making it!

I so much wanted to be with you guys that I can hardly deal with reading this thread. With my new job, it is simply not possible, but maybe it will enable me to make it next year.

I hope all who attend will post a lot of pictures!
