checked the website, pics look good. you mentioned that the season opens in november does this mean no safari's into the jungle are allowed during the closed season?. Just wondering if the meet can be planned during sep or oct because it might be easier to organise things during off season, pls enlighten me.

I am keeping my fingers crossed that I should be free during november 2nd week, hope everything works out according to plan.

1. What is the rent for the cottage?
2. Are there any mosquitoes in the cottage? ( I have an allergy to them)
3. I snore like a bull elephant, so I need a room to myself, lest I disturb others?
Is it possible to get in touch with the architect who designed the huts?
At the moment from my side, I am all for it.
Hey drifter, how about catching a flight from pune to Guwahati and back, you can book to and fro rail tickets from Coimbatore to Pune and back? What say pardner?
4. Finally, what are the top assamese non veg dishes available at the resort or even with any local?

what ever you want to pay above 1k Tai will give a better rate.

recommand mosquitoe repalent from your local pharmacy, winter time moss are less if at all.

raja marcha and bamboo shoots or bamboo shoots and raja marcha puri cholas with rice.

or the Assamese thalis which could include fish, and veg curry, cooked with mustard or veg kharoli (mashed mustard) with onita khar( papaya cooked with burnt bark of the banna plant). and many other common Indian dishes. many fish dish cooked in bamboo and meat. Tai can add more

The idea sounds good, lets all plan and arrive on the dates so that things can be made concrete its quite a long journey by train to pune from coimbatore flying there makes sense. Is anyone bringing their better halves, I need to convince my wife to come along for the party.

I remember eating a lot of pork when I went to guwahati vey tasty stuff indeed, well I over ate and fell ill , nothing new as I am a big foodie.

Glad to hear you are a foodie too, yes flying from coimbatore makes more sense, if you have direct flight then it makes sense, than taking a roundabout route via Pune. But it would be good fun to travel together at least in part and prepare ourselves to face our good friend Naga and his sensahuma.

It is IFG rates per cottage
1. Season: 2000 per person including jeep safari, buffet lunch, dinner and b'fast. Off season 1050 per cottage.
2. During winters negligable but if you are allergic to them I advice repellant.
3. For that Naga has the answer, as the walls of the cottages are of bamboo hence not sound proof.
4. You can have everything but just hope that you like food less spicy, as food of the north east tend to be less of spices you find in rest of the country and more of natural spices and herbs

I firmly beileve that the best way to imbibe the culture of the land is through the stomach Then what is the idea of coming over to your place if I cannot appreciate the tastes of the local cuisine, the exotic aromas, the delicate flavours and the company of good friends and off course single malt.

Finally, what about the ULFA problem, hope it doesnt turn for the serious, last thing we want is to be kidnapped and worse Naga coming to rescue us a la pink panther.

an d what about the lovely naga pork in bamboo shoot with red chili so fine, that you always long for more though your tongue and throat are cauterised long ago...really wish I could be there but I'll not commit till I am sure. Haven't seen Jonah's reply, is Cottage cheese coming too? Should be a blast though.
