Hi there;
We've very good news coming from the Baroda. It a foolfillment of the dream for the shooters around Baroda. Just on the day of 24the April 2010, The Chief Minister of Gujarat Mr. Narendra Modi did a `Bhoomi Poojan' for the new Otdoor Sports Complex to be built within one year of time.(Work started a very next day) In the central area of the city called Manjalpur. This complex includes the world class sports stedium for Hocky, Athletic, Basket Ball, Kabaddi, Kho-Kho, Tennis and off course, Shooting Complex. This complex includes 50 mtr. Rifle shooting Range (29 lanes), 25 mtr. pistol shooting range (10 points), 10 mtr. Air Rifle, Air Pistol Range (35 points). Stadium will be well equip with all the modern gadgets and mechnism that this sport requires. Our Mayor Shri Balkrishna Shukla, himself is very good shooter and a Mavlankar tournament player, is taking a keen interest for the deveopment of this sports.
We The Baroda Rifle Club member are very much thankfull to our Chief Minister and our Mayor for the steps they have taken to develop the sports culture of the City. Baroda Rifle club was established in the year 1966 after the war with Pakistan in 1965. The Civilian Rifle Training is our prime motto. We are one of those two club in the country who are giving a national emblembed (four Lions) certificate after complition of the 0.22 rifle training. (The another one is Ahmedabad Rifle Club).
So everybody around the Vadodara District is welcome for rifle training.

Hi Chaps,

A well deserved shooting range finally taking shape. It is an irony that Vadodara the birth place of G.V. Mavalankar is getting a range 65 years after the independence. Oh well, better late than never. Hope to set new examples for others to follow the suit.
