"In all, a few thousand applications for gun licences were received last year. Of which a total of 781 applications were found suitable and licences granted against them"
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Well I guess the other "few thousands" didn't have enough money to shell out to bribe these people!!

‘‘Your peers now think it is cool if you have a gun licence. And you are looked at with envy at weddings if you are carrying a gun,” said a government servant from Rohini who had applied unsuccessfully for a gun licence last year. He says he will be applying again this year — with a different plea.

this is the sad part .....

If no one has already done so, can some members please write to the author - [email protected] and share some information like relevant pieces from the "draft objections" document & Vikram's "right to protection" article. Best to copy paste relevant portions into the body of the e-mail as many media houses "strip" e-mail attachments...

Thanks in anticipation :)

Cheers!
