Dear All,

I'm putting up here the messages (with prior permission from Karandheer78) Karandheer78 and I exchanged over the past couple of days and now it's your turn to respond to it:

It's really sad how educated and rational shooting sports enthusiasts suffer while the goons make merry. KD, it's goodboy_mentor and I who want to send a petition to KT Chacko or G.G. Pai regarding relaxing the rules, but we don't have enough members to sign the same. Perhaps we can expect you to put your signature on it?

Do email me a copy of the letter which is being sent. I am the Vice President of a bank & will get it voted by my legal team. In addition to me, count around 10 others whom I know will happily append their signatures for this cause.

These are sad archaic laws & if the govt can show their willingness when it comes to gay rights..I am sure the same willingness can be generated for RKBA.

Send me the letter on ........................

Cheers!
I also spoke to an ex-AGM of a certain bank (Kolkata Headoffice) if they shall be interested in sponsoring a half-yearly event (two days of shooting competition and one workshop) and he promised that he shall speak to the people he is still in touch with; overall, this can prove the first step towards promoting RKBA. Unless people are exposed to the the true idea behind gun ownership, promoting RKBA shall stay an Utopian dream. Those who would be interested are requested to pls let know the Admin, the Moderators, Karandheer78, goodboy_mentor
and - if I don't sound like a braggart - me.

We three now look forward to your responses.

Regards and thanks,

Rottlord

P.S. If anyone can please advise on how to make IFG affiliated to NRAI, it shall be an advantage.

Rottlord,

You are too old member to know what to post in which section. Please take care in future. I am moving this thread to RKBA section.

YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS..........that's the SPIRIT; I shall be writing the petition and post it through PM to Pritam, Tai Ahom, KD and Inder; if you detect any flaws in it, rectify the copy and forward it to the mods/admin to give it a final check. In the meantime, could someone please let me know if it needs to be done on a stamp paper or just plain white paper shall suffice? Regarding the signing, we must think of a feasible means instead of making you all spend on travel. But nobody spoke on the NRAI affiliation; it is the most vital thing (I assume) if we are planning to hold such events.

Apologies, Moderators, I should have been careful and shall be henceforth.

A really commendable effort by Rottlord. Requesting all forum members for giving him the best possible support.
As per http://www.nrai.in/membershipform.html organizations can get affiliated. "Organizational Member: Any organization of an all India standing may be given the status, as that of a State, or that of a Union Territory, with or without, voting rights as may be decided by the Governing Body from time to time."
First step IFG needs to become an organization, at present it is a "website". More opinion can be be provided by experienced members of this forum.

Well, guys, here's the update:

Spoke to the SBI PR and the GM of BSNL who are willing to listen to the whole story. If these governmental organisations sponsor the events, it shall be easier obtaining the police permissions et al. More later.

I doubt you will get any help or sponsership from "ex-AGM of a certain bank " but still a good effort. My advice is to arrange a workshop and invite people to come and shoot. Give a small presentation about difference between each type of firearm and safety followed by some gyan on RKBA. Use some exploding target as newbies like some action than mere paper punching.

Invite your relatives, friends their wives etc afterall teaching also begins at home

My two cents.

That's better; but Inder, do you think the private sector banks shall be more interested in this or the govt. sector ones? Of course, the PR person and the Telephones guy are willing to listen, but what do I present IFG as? We are not NRAI affiliated and not even an organisation.

I don't know why you need any bank to sponsor you? Whats in it for them? As you yourself said we are not a NRAI affiliated organization or anything popular for that matter?

Whats your motive behind this event? If its getting more people into shooting family and educating people about RKBA then I don't think you need big resources. Gather some likeminded friends of yours, find a place, get some guns and invite people. Invite some local media guys (Now here you need some contacts  )

Talk to some hotel/eatery to provide some snaks and ask them to sell at your event. I am sure many will be happy to come if you give them some number. Make it a fun event.

If you are going to do something like that then I will sponsor a Big A$$ IFG banner for you

There are reasons, Inder; where do you think the big money to come from? Besides, a governmental organisation funding such an event shall also give us extra mileage. This is just testing the waters and preparing the ground for RKBA.

Big money for what? Why don't you try the easy thing first rather than going for the big money
