Obama shooting down shooting!

In his answers to the 1998 Illinois State Legislative National Political Awareness Test, Obama said he favored a ban on “the sale or transfer of all forms of semi-automatic weapons.”

By definition, this would include all pistols ever made, from .22 target pistols used in the Olympics to rarely-fired pistols kept in nightstands and sock drawers for the defense of families, and every pistol in between. Obama’s strident stand would also ban all semi-automatic rifles and shotguns, whatever their previously legal purpose.

He will get some of the vote and the reason why is because he is trying to hide his voting record and statements about guns which is catching some gun owners unawares. If it was made a major issue in the last week before the election, he will lose the election because just enough gun owners would finally get the word about him.

By the way, the handgun ban is just the tip of the iceberg. He wants to ban all semi autos including rifles, national licensing and registration, voted against a law that would allow use of a handgun for self defense in the home, ban concealed carry nationwide, make felons out of gun theft victims, etc.

Obama may be good for us Americans for international relations and good for us with social reform, but he is a tremendous threat to this country because of his anti civil right to keep and bear arms beliefs. The RKBA is there for protection of this country's citizens and for national security as well, and he wants to diminish it to the point of near non-existence.
If it were not for his anti civil rights stance and threat to the security of the citizens, I would be supporting him wholeheartedly.

Well, maybe he just likes fully automatics!

Jokes apart. I don't see this as a possibility. If there's one thing shooters dont like, its giving up their guns!

But here's the thing, it is looking like he may win and it is looking like he is going to have what is called a fillibuster proof majority Democrat Congress which means if there is legislation he wants and the Democrats want, there is no way for the minority Republican membership to stop it (a fillibuster is like a type of stall where if they stall a bill long enough the session ends without a vote on the bill).
Since the House majority leader wants a so called "assault weapons" ban and the Senate majority leader can be convinced to support it, the AW ban may pass with no problem like Obama has basically promised.
Once they get the AW ban passed, then the floodgates are opened they will be emboldened to pass every dream gun control law they have been itching to pass for decades.
We here in the US may end up with a Canadian style gun law system by the end of two years. The Senate leadership is cautious on the gun laws issue politically, but the House leader is as crazy anti gun as Obama almost and will pass all the laws she can, political repurcussions be damned. She and Obama are going to destroy my party (I am a Democrat) because you are absolutely right, shooters don't like giving up their guns, being taxed for them, charged a fee to own what they already own, get a license to keep them, and we do not like being told what guns we can never buy again.
In two years when we have Congressional elections, the shift in power in Congress will be phenomenal as a result if my party tries to repeat gun control history from 1992-1994.

That does make sense. Well if he gets his way then America is gonna have a taste of the pie we've been eating so long! And it tastes like sh!t.
